Cannabis Seedbank Reviews 2026

The best seedbank depends on your location and priorities. For European growers, Royal Queen Seeds and Dutch Passion offer extensive catalogs with reliable EU shipping. For US-based growers, Homegrown Cannabis Co and Crop King Seeds provide domestic shipping options with germination guarantees.

• Best overall (Europe): Royal Queen Seeds: 100+ strains, brand stores in Amsterdam and Durban, worldwide shipping
• Best overall (USA): Homegrown Cannabis Co: US-focused, Kyle Kushman partnership, fast domestic delivery
• Best selection: Seedsman: large multi-breeder catalog with separate US, UK and EU stores
• Best budget: Nirvana: quality genetics at competitive prices with own breeding program

In most countries and US states, purchasing cannabis seeds is legal. Seeds are sold as collectible souvenirs or for genetic preservation and contain negligible THC. However, germination laws vary by jurisdiction. In the US, seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026, which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped.

• United States: Rules differ by state, and federal hemp rules change in stages through December 11, 2026 (check before ordering)
• Europe: Seeds legal to buy in most EU countries; Spain, Netherlands, and UK have established seed markets
• Canada: Legal to buy and grow (up to 4 plants per household under federal law)
• Australia: Seeds legal in ACT for personal use; other states vary

Look for these trust signals when evaluating a seedbank: years in operation (established seedbanks have more to lose), germination guarantees, verifiable customer reviews on independent platforms, transparent shipping policies, and responsive customer service. Avoid seedbanks with no physical address, no reviews outside their own site, or prices that seem too good to be true.

Most established seedbanks accept multiple payment methods. Many seedbanks accept cryptocurrency and some give a small discount for it, but not all do: Royal Queen Seeds and Sensi Seeds, for example, do not accept crypto. Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are common but may be processed through third-party payment providers. Bank transfers are standard for European seedbanks, and some accept cash by mail.

• Bitcoin/Crypto: Accepted by many but not all seedbanks; some give a small discount
• Credit cards: Visa and Mastercard widely accepted; may show as a generic merchant name
• Bank transfer: Common for EU seedbanks; lower fees, slower processing
• Cash by mail: Some seedbanks accept cash in a concealed envelope; no digital trail

Yes, many international seedbanks ship to the United States using stealth packaging methods. Delivery times typically range from 5-15 business days for international orders. US-based seedbanks like Homegrown Cannabis Co offer faster domestic shipping (2-5 business days). Reshipment policies differ: some seedbanks reship lost parcels, while others, such as Seedsman, exclude parcels seized by customs or law enforcement. Check the policy before you order.

A germination guarantee is a seedbank's promise that a certain percentage of seeds will successfully sprout. Guarantees typically range from 80% to 100% depending on the seedbank. If seeds fail to germinate within the guaranteed rate, the seedbank usually replaces them. Not every seedbank offers a guarantee: Seedsman, for example, reviews claims case by case. To qualify, you usually need to follow the seedbank's recommended germination method (paper towel method is most common) and report failures within a specified timeframe.
