Our verdict in one sentence: Seedsman is a legitimate, very large seed bank with domestic US shipping and good prices on its house genetics, but it no longer offers a germination guarantee and its claim rules are strict. Who Runs Seedsman?
According to its company history, Seedsman was started in 2002 by two cousins, Will and Tom, and launched internationally in 2003 at the Cannatrade fair in Bern. It introduced the Lowryder strain in 2005 and was an early supporter of the CBD Crew project. The shop is operated today by Tigre Uno Distribución S.L.U., a Barcelona company incorporated in 2014, and its terms fall under Spanish law. Seedsman works as an online shop; we found no retail store.
Its legal disclaimer states that “Germination of cannabis seed is illegal in most countries”, and Seedsman says it will refuse a sale if it suspects illegal use. In the US store, seeds are sold as containing no more than 0.3% delta-9 THC, as souvenirs and for genetic preservation.
Catalog: Seed Types, Breeders and Seedsman Genetics
The catalog is the main reason people search for Seedsman, but its size now depends on which store serves you. In October 2026 the EU store listed about 3,960 products from 118 breeders, the US store about 2,300 from 59 breeders, and the UK store about 1,500 from 41 breeders. Filters for feminized, autoflowering, regular and high-CBD seeds make finding feminized seeds or regular seeds is quick.
Sensi Seeds, Royal Queen Seeds, Barney’s Farm and Nirvana appear in all three stores. DNA Genetics also appears in all three stores, The Cali Connection in the US and EU stores, and T.H. Seeds only in the EU store. Seedsman’s breeder page says every seed ships in the original breeder packaging.
Seedsman’s own genetics
The house brand covers roughly 115 to 120 products and is marketed as “120+ Strains”. Many classics come in several versions: Jack Herer, for example, is sold as Feminized, Auto Feminized and Fast Feminized, each from $13.95 for a single seed in the US store. House seeds earn double loyalty points, which makes them the best value in the shop for repeat buyers.
There is no independent ranking of the “best seeds from Seedsman”, and we do not invent one. Well-known names in the current catalog include Sour Diesel, C99 and the house Jack Herer.
Clones in the US store
The US store also sells clones, with 37 clone products listed in October 2026; we found clones only in the US store. One r/microgrowery thread from June 2025 describes a clone order that arrived incomplete, so check a clone order as soon as it arrives.

UK prices include a temporary October sale (35% off); regular UK prices for this strain are £8.72 to £43.78. The 10-pack roughly halves the per-seed price compared with a single seed, and the same seed costs more in the US store than in the UK store, even at regular UK prices, because each store sets its own prices. The cheapest seeds started at $5 for a three-seed mystery mix and $6 for a single seed (US), £2.50 on sale (UK) and €3.39 (EU). Prices change often, so treat these figures as a dated snapshot.
Shipping by Region: US, UK, EU, Canada and Australia
Seedsman now ships from three regions instead of one, and each store has its own prices and shipping options.
United States. The US store states that it ships from the USA. The checkout offers USPS Ground Advantage at $8.85 or Priority Mail at $15 for a small order, buyers must be 21 or older, and Seedsman quotes 3 to 5 business days.
Shipping to the US does not make growing legal everywhere. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026 (P.L. 119-37, section 781, as amended by P.L. 119-103), which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped (Congressional Research Service summary). Check your state and local rules before you order.
United Kingdom and EU. UK orders ship from inside the UK, with “48 Tracked” at £3.28 for a small order. EU orders ship from inside the EU; GLS delivery to the Netherlands and Germany cost about €12 to €12.66. Both quote 3 to 5 business days.
Canada, Australia and other countries. These orders go through the UK/international store. For an order to Toronto, the checkout offered untracked shipping at £9.95 or International Tracked at £12.94. The checkout labels the untracked option “not eligible for reshipment or refund for non-delivery”, so the tracked option is the safer choice. International delivery is quoted at 7 to 14 business days.
All orders ship in plain, unbranded packaging, with tracking sent by email when the service includes it. We found no free-shipping threshold on any of the three promotions pages.
Seized parcels are not covered. Parcels seized by customs or police are not reimbursed or reshipped. Seedsman’s legal disclaimer says it “will not be responsible for any shipments lost to law enforcement”, and its terms exclude responsibility for products intercepted on the way to a country where they are illegal.
Processing time is the most common shipping complaint. In April 2026, growers on r/microgrowery reported orders sitting in “pre-shipment” status before Seedsman stepped in, so allow a few extra days close to planting season.
Germination Policy: No Guarantee Since July 2023
Since July 1, 2023, Seedsman has not offered a germination guarantee; its Germination Promise page says “we make no guarantees”. Seedsman says it requires suppliers to reach more than 90% germination and runs its own tests, but that is a quality target, not a promise to you. The claim procedure works like this:
- File within 60 days of purchase.
- You must have attempted to germinate all seeds from that order.
- The form asks for your order number, germination method and photo or video evidence.
- Free seeds and replacement orders are excluded.
- No refunds; claims are judged case by case, usually with replacement seeds.
- Seedsman advises buying about 10% more seeds than you need.
US buyers face one more restriction: the legal disclaimer excludes residents of 20 states, including Texas, Florida, Pennsylvania, Georgia and North Carolina, from returns, refunds and replacements altogether.
These rules explain many of the complaints online. In July 2026, a poster on r/microgrowery described 9 of 11 seeds failing and a claim that ended with a 15% discount code instead of replacements, and a long-time customer on r/farmingthebestgreens ran into the 60-day limit. If you buy now but plan to grow later, the window may close before you germinate anything.
Payment Methods
Every store accepts credit and debit cards and crypto through CoinGate (“Bitcoin, USDT and more”). The US store adds PayPal USD (PYUSD), and the EU store adds bank transfer. Cash, checks and money orders no longer appear at checkout. The UK/international store can price in nine currencies (AUD, BRL, GBP, CAD, EUR, INR, NZD, THB and USD), while the US store uses only dollars and the EU store only euros. The old Bitcoin discount is gone; the only payment-linked perk we found is three free seeds for paying with PYUSD in the US.
