Last updated: October 22, 2026

DNA Genetics is the breeder that introduced Chocolope and the company that made Kosher Kush and Tangie famous as seeds, started in Amsterdam in 2004 by two Californians, Don Morris and Aaron Yarkoni. Today it sells its own seeds online through one store, dnagenetics.com, which ships from California to the US and Canada only. The old European store at dnagenetics.eu no longer sells seeds: on October 22, 2026 every shop page redirected to the US site. Our verdict: a legitimate breeder store with fast US shipping and frequent sales, held back by a vague germination promise, thin customer service and policy pages that contradict the checkout. We score it 5.8/10.

This review is based on DNA Genetics’ published policies, current prices and shipping rates on its US store, and independent customer feedback. All facts were checked on October 22, 2026.

Buying DNA Genetics Seeds from the USA

For US growers, dnagenetics.com is the breeder’s own store. The homepage says seeds ship directly from a warehouse in California, and the checkout prices everything in dollars. When we priced a cart on October 22, 2026, a single 5-pack ($80.12) came to $7.99 for shipping, while carts of $110.76 and $135.24 shipped free. The shipping page (last edited in May 2025) still quotes $5.99 and free shipping from $100, and the banner and promotions page say free from $120. Go by what the checkout shows.

Orders travel by USPS. DNA quotes delivery in 1 to 5 business days after you order and sends a tracking email once the parcel leaves; its FAQ adds that orders are processed within 1 to 3 business days. The same FAQ says DNA ships to every state except Kentucky and Kansas “and areas where it’s illegal”. The checkout calculator did not block those two states when we tested it, so an order to those states may be cancelled; ask DNA before you order. You need an account to order; one is created at checkout.

Who DNA Genetics Is

According to the company’s About page, Don and Aaron moved from California to Amsterdam in 2003, and in 2004 registered the name DNA Genetics (“D and A”, from their first initials) and opened a seed shop near Dam Square. L.A. Confidential took third place in the Indica category at the High Times Cannabis Cup that same year. The timeline goes on to list Cup wins for Martian Mean Green, Chocolope, Lemon Skunk, OG #18, Kosher Kush and Tangie, plus “Strain of the Year” mentions in High Times. Not all of these strains started with DNA: its own Kosher Kush page says the strain traces back to a clone-only cut from Los Angeles, and Tangie came from Dave Crockett, whose Crockett Family Farms DNA acquired in 2019; DNA released Tangie and Strawberry Banana as seeds under its own name (Don Morris in Cannabis Business Times, August 2019). DNA says it has won more than 200 awards; that figure is the company’s own and we could not count it independently. DNA also says it stopped entering cups as a company around 2016 and 2017.

Since 2015 the company has also licensed its brand and genetics. The About page describes a partnership with Canopy Growth in Canada from 2015 and licensing deals in several US states from 2019. OG DNA Genetics Inc. raised US$35 million in December 2018, according to New Cannabis Ventures, in a press release datelined Los Angeles that calls DNA “rooted in Los Angeles and founded in Amsterdam”. The US store’s terms name OG DNA Genetics as the trademark owner and put disputes under California law in Los Angeles County. Bank payments in the FAQ go to DNA Army CA, Inc, and returns go to an address in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Amsterdam shop at Sint Nicolaasstraat 41 is still listed on the remaining European contact page with phone number +31 20 778 7220, and the About page says the shop “still stands today”. We could not confirm its current opening hours.

Buying from Europe, the UK or Australia

This is the biggest change for readers outside North America. Until at least June 2026 DNA ran a separate European store at dnagenetics.eu with euro prices and shipping to EU countries and the UK (archived June 9, 2026). On October 22, 2026 the dnagenetics.eu homepage, seed categories, product pages, cart, payment and shipping pages all redirected to dnagenetics.com, and the homepage redirect was the same from test locations in the Netherlands, Germany, the UK and the US. A few leftover pages (contact, FAQ, login) still load, and the old store search still lists seeds with euro prices, but every product link redirects to the US store.

The US store does not fill the gap. Its shipping page says it ships to US and Canadian customers only, and the checkout offered no shipping method for the UK, Germany, the Netherlands or Australia. The US homepage still tells overseas buyers to use the European website, which now loops back to the US store. Until DNA changes this, buyers in Europe, the UK and Australia can only get DNA Genetics seeds through third-party seedbanks, which fall outside this review.

Catalog and Seed Types

On October 22, 2026 the US store listed 72 seed products, all DNA Genetics strains: the site’s own categories count 42 feminized, 17 autoflower and 14 regular products (the mystery pack is listed in two), plus mix packs. Every variety we priced was in stock.

Signature strains on offer include Kosher Kush (feminized and regular), Chocolope, Chocolope Kush, Strawberry Banana, Skywalker Kush (feminized, auto and regular), Tangie (regular), HG23 (feminized and auto) and a Sorbet line (Strawberry, Banana, Gelato and Double Stuffed Sorbet). A “Classic Strains” section adds DNA versions of Blue Dream, Green Crack, White Widow and GG4. Autoflower buyers get a series of Mac-named autos (The Big Mac, MacNana, MacMelon, Return of the Mac) next to Skywalker Kush Auto and DNA Cake Auto.

Several famous names from the European catalog were not on the US store when we checked, including L.A. Confidential, Lemon Skunk, 24k Gold, OG #18 and Cannalope Haze. If you are after one of those, check availability before you plan a grow. The store also sells THCa flower and merchandise, and has a separate wholesale login. To compare seed types, see our guide to feminized vs autoflower vs regular seeds, or browse feminized, autoflower and regular seeds in our own shop.

Prices and Pack Sizes

Most strains come in 5, 10, 15 and 20 seed packs, and some also in a 3-pack. On October 22, 2026, 62 products were in the store’s sale category, so the sale price is what most buyers will pay. These are the prices we saw that day, with the regular price in brackets:

Strain (type)5 seeds10 seeds20 seeds
Kosher Kush (feminized)$80.12, $16.02/seed (reg. $100.15)$95.23, $9.52/seed (reg. $129.51)$170.76, $8.54/seed (reg. $256.14)
Chocolope (feminized)$80.12, $16.02/seed (reg. $100.05)$95.23, $9.52/seed (reg. $149.60)$170.76, $8.54/seed (reg. $340.00)
Skywalker Kush Auto (autoflower)$80.12, $16.02/seed (reg. $100.15)$95.23, $9.52/seed (reg. $129.51)$170.76, $8.54/seed (reg. $256.14)
Golden Fortunes (regular)$63.92, $12.78/seed (reg. $77.96)$77.96, $7.80/seed (reg. $95.08)$139.87, $6.99/seed (reg. $170.58)

The 5-pack is poor value: it costs $16 a seed on sale, while the 10-pack costs about $9.50 a seed for only $15 more. Where a 3-pack exists (Skywalker Kush Auto, Strawberry Sorbet, Challah Bread and others), it costs $45 on sale ($50 regular), or $15 a seed. The cheapest per-seed price we found was Generation X-18 Regular at $5.75 in a 20-pack ($114.93 on sale), and the highest sale price per seed was $16.04 for 5-packs. Across the catalog, regular prices run from $7.01 to $20.15 a seed.

Returns are limited. Under the returns and refund policy you must email DNA within 7 days of receiving your order, and items can only go back unopened. Damaged or faulty goods can be reported within 14 days for a replacement or refund, and DNA does not offer exchanges on seeds.

Shipping by Region

United States. USPS from California, $7.99 flat rate at checkout and free on larger orders (see above), 1 to 5 business days after ordering, tracking by email. No shipping to Kentucky or Kansas, according to the FAQ. P.O. boxes are accepted. The warehouse does not ship on the holidays listed on the shipping page, including Thanksgiving and the day after.

Canada. Canada is on the list, but on different terms. The checkout charged $30 for “Expited Shipping” on our test cart, and free shipping applies to US orders only. The shipping page says Canadian orders go by USPS without tracking and that it is the buyer’s risk if customs stops the parcel.

UK, EU and Australia. No shipping from the US store, and the European store no longer sells seeds (see above).

Packaging. We found no description of stealth or discreet packaging on the US store’s policy pages.

Shipping to the US does not make growing legal everywhere. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026 (P.L. 119-37, section 781, as amended by P.L. 119-103), which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped (Congressional Research Service summary). Check your state and local rules before you order.

Germination Guarantee: What DNA Genetics Actually Promises

The homepage carries a “Germination Guarantee” block: follow the steps in DNA’s germination guide, and if seeds fail to germinate, DNA says it will “replace like for like quickly and without fuss”. That is the whole published policy. We found no guarantee page, no claim window, no list of what proof DNA wants and no exclusions, and the FAQ does not mention germination at all.

In practice that means the outcome depends on support. In an r/microgrowery thread started in April 2024 about DNA Genetics, with replies into 2026, one buyer reported in February 2026 that DNA replaced a failed pack after they sent proof, while another said in March 2026 that emails about seeds that did not germinate went unanswered. The official DNAGenetics account replied to complaints in the thread in September 2025 with an offer to make things right. If you claim, keep your order number, follow DNA’s own germination steps and photograph the process.

On seed quality, DNA’s breeding record is long and well documented in its own award history, but recent independent feedback is mixed. In the same Reddit thread, several growers report good germination and keeper phenotypes, while others complain about failures. A grower who tests seed lots reported under 50% germination on a DNA Tangie pack bought from a third-party seedbank (April 2024). Forum reports are anecdotes, so they inform but do not decide our score.

Payment Methods

At checkout on October 22, 2026, the US store offered three options: credit or debit card (processed by PaymentFlo), Cash App and Venmo. For Cash App and Venmo, DNA emails payment instructions after you place the order. The FAQ also mentions Visa and Mastercard with 3D Secure verification, and still lists bank wire and ACH instructions (payee DNA Army CA, Inc), but bank transfer did not appear as a checkout option. We found no crypto or PayPal option.

Deals, Loyalty and Discount Codes

As of October 2026, these are the ways to pay less at DNA Genetics:

Ongoing sale. Most seed packs were marked down, by about 18% to 20% on 5-packs and by up to 50% on larger packs (see the price table).

Free seeds. The promotions page lists a free 3-pack of Challah Bread feminized seeds on seed orders over $120. In our test the free pack was added to the cart automatically above that amount. Free-seed promos rotate; the page lists many closed ones.

Newsletter code. Signing up for the email list gives a one-time 10% voucher for your next order. We found no public discount code beyond that, so treat third-party coupon sites with caution.

DNA Points. The loyalty page says every $1 spent on seeds earns 1 DNA Point, 10 points are worth $1 (10% back), a first order earns 10 bonus points, and points expire after 365 days. The promotions page, however, lists “DNA Points” as a closed promotion, so check your account after ordering before you count on it.

Seed Vault Club. A paid membership for US residents only: a $200 one-time registration plus $420 a year ($620 in the first year) for four quarterly boxes of unreleased seeds, capped at 420 members, according to the Seed Vault Club page.

Customer Service

DNA’s US store offers fewer channels than most seedbanks we review:

  • Contact form with a department filter, and a stated reply time of 24 to 48 hours (contact page)
  • Email: [email protected] (listed on the returns page)
  • Phone: listed as “TBA” on the returns page

Some details are clearly copied from the old European site: the US returns page quotes service hours of 10:00 to 18:30 CET, and the contact page still sends seed questions to dnagenetics.shop, a domain that now redirects to dnagenetics.com. On public complaint handling, we found no Better Business Bureau profile for DNA Genetics, and its SmartCustomer page had no reviews (checked October 22, 2026). In the r/microgrowery thread linked above (replies from 2025 and 2026), several buyers describe unanswered emails about missing or failed orders, one describes a replacement that arrived with extra seeds, and the official DNAGenetics account replied in September 2025 apologizing for the lack of response and offering to resolve the cases.

Reputation

Independent review data on the store is thin. SeedFinder lists “DNA Genetics Online Store” with a General Impression of 7.23 out of 10 from 8 user reviews and a “green_yellow” status, but the newest review dates from November 2017, before the current US store. We found no BBB profile and no SmartCustomer reviews.

On Reddit, DNA’s genetics come up mostly in grow logs, and growers recommend DNA as a go-to source for Chocolope (for example in this May 2026 r/GrowingMarijuana thread). Store-specific feedback, as in the r/microgrowery thread, is split between growers who were happy with germination and buyers who report shipping and support problems. None of this is verifiable order by order, so it plays a small part in the score.

Website and Ordering

The store itself is easy to use: clear categories for feminized, autoflower and regular seeds, filters by trait (indoor, high yield, beginner-friendly, fast-flowering), visible sale prices and a working cart. The weak spot is the policy pages, which contradict the checkout and each other: $5.99 versus $7.99 shipping, free shipping from $100 versus $120, bank transfer in the FAQ but not at checkout, an active loyalty page next to a “closed” DNA Points promotion, CET service hours and a “TBA” phone number on a US store, and a link to a European store that no longer exists. When in doubt, go by what the checkout shows.

Who DNA Genetics Suits, and Who Should Look Elsewhere

A good fit if you: live in the US (outside Kentucky and Kansas) and want Kosher Kush, Chocolope or Tangie seeds straight from the company behind them; buy 10-packs or larger, where sale prices drop to about $9.50 a seed or less; or want regular seeds for breeding or pheno hunting.

Look elsewhere if you: live in the UK, the EU or Australia (no direct shipping any more); want a germination guarantee with written terms; need phone support; want small, cheap packs (5-packs cost about $16 a seed); or are looking for L.A. Confidential, Lemon Skunk or OG #18, which were not on the US store.

DNA Genetics scores 5.8/10 overall. Seed Quality and Germination is the strongest category at 6.5/10: a long breeding record and a catalog of well-known strains, held back by a germination promise without terms and mixed recent feedback. Shipping and Delivery and Product Range both land at 6.0/10. US shipping is fast and cheap from California, but the store reaches only the US and Canada (Canada at $30 without tracking) now that the European store is gone. The range covers 72 seed products across feminized, auto and regular, but it is limited to DNA’s own strains and misses several of its classics.

Price and Value sits at 5.5/10: larger packs on sale are fair at $6 to $10 a seed, but 5-packs cost $16 a seed and the free-shipping threshold is unclear. Customer Service and Website and UX each score 5.0/10, for a contact form without a phone line, copied European service hours and policy pages that contradict the checkout on shipping, payment and loyalty points.

Final Verdict

DNA Genetics is a legitimate, long-running breeder, and for US growers its own store is a straightforward way to buy Kosher Kush, Chocolope, Tangie and newer lines direct: USPS shipping from California is quick, most packs are on sale, and 10-packs or larger come in at under $10 a seed.

The weaknesses are concrete. The germination guarantee is one sentence with no terms, support runs through a contact form with no phone line, and the policy pages often disagree with the checkout. Buyers in Europe, the UK and Australia can no longer order from DNA directly. If you are in the US and buy bigger packs, DNA is a reasonable choice; otherwise, compare the alternatives in our seedbank review hub.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is DNA Genetics based, and who owns it?

DNA Genetics was founded in Amsterdam in 2004 by Don Morris and Aaron Yarkoni, two California natives. The US store is run under the OG DNA Genetics brand, its terms fall under California law, and payments go to DNA Army CA, Inc. OG DNA Genetics Inc. issued its US$35 million funding announcement from Los Angeles in 2018.

Does DNA Genetics ship to the USA?

Yes. Its US store ships from California by USPS to every state except Kentucky and Kansas, according to its FAQ. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, so check your local rules before you order.

How long does DNA Genetics take to ship?

DNA aims to process orders within 1 to 3 business days and quotes USPS delivery in 1 to 5 business days after ordering. Canadian orders go by USPS without tracking.

Where does DNA Genetics ship from?

All orders from dnagenetics.com ship from DNA’s warehouse in California. Returns go to a separate address in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Is DNA Genetics legit?

Yes. DNA Genetics has bred and sold seeds since 2004, is the original breeder of Chocolope, released Kosher Kush and Tangie as seeds, and runs its own US store. Independent store reviews are scarce, and some buyers report slow support and failed seeds, so keep your order records.

Does DNA Genetics have a germination guarantee?

It promises to replace seeds that fail to germinate “like for like” if you follow its germination guide. DNA publishes no claim window, proof requirements or exclusions, so claims are handled by support case by case.

What payment methods does DNA Genetics accept?

The checkout offers credit or debit card, Cash App and Venmo. The FAQ still lists bank wire and ACH details, but bank transfer was not a checkout option on October 22, 2026. There is no crypto or PayPal option.

Is there a DNA Genetics discount code?

Signing up for the newsletter gives a one-time 10% voucher. On October 22, 2026 most seed packs were also on sale, and seed orders over $120 received a free 3-pack of Challah Bread. We found no other public code.

Can I still buy DNA Genetics seeds in Europe or the UK?

Not from DNA directly. On October 22, 2026 the European store at dnagenetics.eu redirected to the US store, which ships only to the US and Canada. European and UK buyers have to use third-party seedbanks that stock DNA strains.

What Changed in This Update

This review used to describe the European store at dnagenetics.eu, with euro prices, EU shipping and a points scheme that no longer apply. It now covers dnagenetics.com, the only store where DNA sells its own seeds, with dollar prices, US and Canadian shipping and the current checkout options. Strains that are no longer on the store, such as L.A. Confidential and Lemon Skunk, are no longer presented as best-sellers, and the review now has scores for the first time.
