Buying From Brothers Grimm Seeds in the USA
Brothers Grimm Seeds is a domestic US seller, so there is no customs step. Its seed FAQ says it ships to all 50 states by USPS with a tracking number, in packaging that does not mention “Brothers Grimm Seeds” or “seed bank”. Inside the parcel you get a hemp seed certificate of analysis, which the FAQ says USPS requires. The terms describe the products as hemp seeds under the 2018 Farm Bill and set a minimum age of 18.
That hemp classification is what the 2026 federal change affects. In a blog post from November 2025, the company itself warns that, under the reading many lawyers expect, interstate shipping of many seed genetics “could be treated as shipping a Schedule I controlled substance under federal law after November 2026”. Read the legal note in the shipping section below before you order.
Who Brothers Grimm Seeds Is
According to its history page, Brothers Grimm Seeds was started in 1996 by a breeder known as MrSoul and a partner. The original operation stopped in 2002, and the brand was revived in Colorado in 2015. The company still presents MrSoul as its master breeder and says every Brothers Grimm strain is bred in-house. These are the company’s own accounts.
The brand runs celebrity collaborations. A press release of November 1, 2024, datelined Johnstown, Colorado, announced Ricky’s Hash Plant, made with The Trailer Park Boys and Hemptown Naturals and sold through brothersgrimmseeds.com. The shop now calls itself the official creator of all Trailer Park Boys seeds. In late 2025 it launched Montel’s Dream Widow with Montel Williams, a White Widow x Blue Dream cross, pledging $1 per pack sold in the first 30 days to a foundation. In October 2025 it also released BodyCount with Ice T, a Purple Urkle x Rosetta Stone cross.
The contact page gives the mailing name Brothers Grimm Genetics at a P.O. Box in Johnstown, and the team page lists a CEO, a vice president, a manager and sales staff. A product page says the company is registered with the Colorado Department of Agriculture; we could not check that, or the registered legal entity, in a public register.
Catalog and Seed Types
On October 22, 2026 the shop listed about 140 seed products outside its auction section, of which 101 were in stock. Another 130 or so listings are seed auctions (mystery bundles, Trailer Park Boys bundles, bulk lots), which are bid on rather than bought at a fixed price. The in-stock fixed-price range breaks down roughly as follows:
- Main catalog feminized seeds: 12 core strains such as Cinderella 99, Apollo, G13 Genius, Grimm Glue, Princess Haze, Rosetta Stone, Space Queen, Killer Queen, Thai Herer 99 and Ocifer, in 3 and 9 seed packs, plus 3 variety packs.
- Limited editions: the Trailer Park Boys strains (Ricky’s Hash Plant, Bubble’s Blueberry F4, Black Tee Tangie, Dirty Burger), the Montel Williams line and newer drops such as Cinderella Purple and Genius Juice.
- Tester seeds: 16 in-stock tester packs (for example HEKA, Junky 99, Golden Cipher). The shop states plainly that testers “are not guaranteed for germination or performance”.
- Bulk feminized: 31 in-stock bulk listings of 100 or 1,000 seeds, aimed at larger growers. A bulk seeds FAQ suggests strains by use.
- Regular seeds: 18 in-stock packs, including Brothers Grimm “Vintage Vault” regulars and SubCool (The Dank) regulars.
- Autoflowers: only 6 listings, all from Purple City Genetics.

Testing. The germination rates page lists Colorado Seed Lab certificates of 98% to 99% for 11 strains, and the clean seed page says the seeds are tested for Hop Latent Viroid and more than a dozen other viral and fungal targets by an outside lab. The COAs posted there are dated October 2022 to April 2023, so they show past batches, not necessarily the packs on sale today.

Current sale prices (October 22, 2026). Several bulk lots were discounted: 100 seeds of Killer Queen, Rosetta Stone or Durban Thai x C99 for $111 (about $1.11 a seed, normally $420 to $450), and 1,000-seed lots of strains such as Ricky’s Hash Plant or Rosetta Stone for $1,000 instead of $3,000 to $4,000 (about $1.00 a seed).
Shipping rates are not published on the site, so we could not include them. The terms also say shipping costs are non-refundable.
Shipping by Region
United States. All orders go by USPS with a tracking number, and the FAQ says most orders ship within 24 to 48 business hours. No transit times, carrier service level or dispatch cut-off are given. Packaging is discreet, with no shop name on the outside. The delivery rule is strict: the FAQ and terms say USPS tracking is the only proof of delivery, so if tracking shows “delivered” and you say the parcel never arrived, there is no refund or replacement. A signature on delivery is available for an extra charge if you email the shop first. We found no published shipping rate or free-shipping threshold. One buyer on Reddit wrote in April 2026 that a pack ordered on a Thursday arrived the following week, which is one report, not a guarantee.
Canada. The shop’s Canada page sends Canadian growers to a separate Canadian retailer rather than shipping from Colorado. Buying there falls under that retailer’s policies, not this review.
UK, Europe and Australia. The FAQ only lists the 50 US states, and we found no international shipping option.
Shipping to the US does not make growing legal everywhere. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026 (P.L. 119-37, section 781, as amended by P.L. 119-103), which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped (Congressional Research Service summary). Check your state and local rules before you order.
Germination Guarantee: The Exact Terms
Brothers Grimm Seeds advertises high germination, but we found no written germination guarantee with a time limit, proof requirements or a claim process. What the site does say:
- Marketing claims: a June 2024 blog post says “We boast an impressive 98% germination rate”, and another post says the company “guarantees a 98% germination rate”. Neither explains what happens if seeds fail.
- Lab results: the germination rates page shows Colorado Seed Lab certificates of 98% to 99% for 11 strains. That is a measured rate for tested batches, not a promise for your pack.
- Binding terms: the terms and conditions say the company will refund an item that is “defective upon receipt” (the site’s example is crushed seeds), after you send it back to its office. A separate “Damaged / Faulty Goods” clause offers a replacement, not a refund, if you report it within 14 days of receipt; you pay for shipping the replacement. Nothing in the terms covers seeds that arrive intact but fail to germinate.
- Exclusions: tester seeds and mystery grab bags are explicitly “not guaranteed for germination or performance”.
If seeds do not sprout, contact the shop within 14 days with your order number and photos. Any replacement for germination failure is at the shop’s discretion, not a right under the terms.
Payment Methods
The FAQ lists credit and debit cards, checks and wire payments. Product pages also give a Venmo handle and say Venmo payments take up to 24 business hours to confirm, and that checks go to the Johnstown P.O. Box. We found no crypto option and the site does not list accepted card brands.
Deals, Loyalty and Discount Codes
Deals are the main way to save, and they change often. As of October 2026, the sales page (last updated October 1, 2026) listed:
- Buy 4, get 4 free on the four Trailer Park Boys strains, and buy 2, get 2 free on Montel’s Dream Widow and DreamStone.
- BOGO on Lucid Feelz, HEKA, White Napalm, Rosetta Stone, Durban Thai x C99, Killer Queen, Grimm Glue and G13 Genius, and on Brothers Grimm regular seeds.
- Bulk lots of 100 seeds for $111 on three strains (no mix and match).
- Tester deal: $20 off when you buy 3 tester packs, no coupon needed.
- Free seeds: a surprise pack of seeds on all orders over $78.
The page says deals cannot be combined with other discounts and can change at any time. We found no public discount code and no points or loyalty program on the site. Buyers on Reddit post the free packs that came with their orders (September 25, 2026).
Customer Service
Support is small-business style. The contact page lists a number for text messages and an email address, both handled by the CEO, with office hours of Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 6 PM MST, and a mailing address. The terms ask you to agree exchanges “by phone or e-mail”, but the only number listed is marked as a text line. The “Chat” menu item opens an AI assistant; we found no live chat with staff.
Reply times are not stated. In a thread of September 24, 2026, a customer wrote that emails and texts about missing items had gone unanswered for over a week. The CEO’s account replied publicly within a day, apologized and cited a transition with new employees and a facility build-out; one other user said replies normally come within about 72 hours. We found no Better Business Bureau, SmartCustomer or Reviews.io profile for the shop, so there is no public complaint record to check.
Reputation
GrowDiaries. The Brothers Grimm page on GrowDiaries showed a rating of 9 with 143 grow diaries, 62 harvests and 54 reviews (checked October 22, 2026). Recent reviews mostly praise easy growing, resin and flavor; among the negative ones, one grower reported two plants that turned hermaphrodite and another found Cinderella Pineapple buds fluffier than expected.
SeedFinder. The SeedFinder breeder page lists 85 strains and links to brothersgrimmseeds.com, but still describes the breeder as active only from about 1999 to 2004.
Reddit. Much of the discussion happens in r/brothersgrimmseedbank, a subreddit the company links from its own site and calls its grower forum, so expect a friendly crowd there. Independent and brand-forum threads we checked:
- “Has anyone here grown Brothers Grimm Seeds?” (r/cannabiscultivation, September 2, 2025, replies into 2026): mostly positive, with growers describing fast germination and good yields from C99, Apollo, Space Queen, Rosetta Stone and Grimm Glue; one grower saw “some intersex” in a mixed-light setup and thought it was likely their own conditions.
- “Brothers Grimm April BOGO Deal” (r/cannabiscultivation, April 9, 2026): a buyer asks whether the BOGO deal is legit; a reply explains that deals do not stack and reports a pack arriving within about a week.

Prices are among the lowest we see for breeder-direct seeds, and the deals and free packs bring them down further.
