Cannapot Review 2026: Shipping, Prices and Guarantee

Cannapot is an Austrian online seed shop that says it has sold cannabis seeds since 2004. It stocks seeds from about 200 breeders, from mainstream names to small boutique and landrace projects, plus its own Cannapot Seeds line, and it ships from Austria to most of the world, including the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. Our verdict: a long-running, well-rated specialist shop for collectors, with very wide selection and many payment options, held back by a terms clause that rules out any germination guarantee, slow overseas delivery and policy pages that contradict each other. We score it 7.0/10.

This review is based on Cannapot’s published policies, current prices and shipping quotes from its own checkout, and independent customer feedback. All facts were checked on October 22, 2026.

Buying From Cannapot in the USA

Cannapot does ship to the United States, but not in the way most US buyers expect. When we ran a test cart through the shipping estimator on October 22, 2026, the standard Austrian Post option that Europe, Canada and Australia get did not appear for the US. US addresses got two choices only: “Tarnkappenversand US” (stealth shipping, where the seeds are taken out of the breeder packs and repacked in small neutral packaging) for €8.99, or UPS Standard for €100. The €150 free-shipping threshold did not apply to the US stealth option in our test.

Stealth shipping has two practical consequences. First, you lose the original breeder packaging, and Cannapot’s terms exclude returns and exchanges for stealth orders. Second, all orders travel from Austria through customs, and the shipping page states that there is no refund or compensation if customs or another authority stops or seizes a parcel. Quoted worldwide transit is 7 to 21 or more working days, so this is a slower route than a domestic US seedbank. Prices are in euros by default, although the site can display amounts in US dollars, pounds and Swiss francs.

Who Cannapot Is

The imprint names Valeskini + Partner GesbR, a civil-law partnership at Kirchberg 112, 8591 Maria Lankowitz, Austria, registered with the district authority of Voitsberg and a member of the Styrian chamber of commerce. The Austrian VAT number on that page returned a valid result with the same name and address in the EU VIES register on October 22, 2026.

Cannapot says it has worked with cannabis seeds since 2004, which makes it one of the older seed shops in Europe still trading. Its About page introduces the team only by initials: “J.”, the founder and creator of the Cannapot Seeds line, who still answers many customer questions personally, and “C.”, who runs administration, orders and customer service. The shop also says it runs the AlpenHigh auction house for rare seeds together with Alpenhigh Seeds. One oddity: the English terms name Arona (a town on Tenerife, Spain) as the place of performance, while the German terms, the imprint and the shipping pages all point to Austria.

Catalog and Seed Types

Range is Cannapot’s main strength. On October 22, 2026 the “All products” list showed 4,748 items, including sold-out listings and some accessories such as terpenes, and the manufacturer filter listed about 200 breeders. Those run from large brands such as Royal Queen Seeds, Fast Buds, Barney’s Farm, Sensi Seeds, Dutch Passion and Seedsman to smaller or harder-to-find names like Bodhi Seeds, Brothers Grimm, ApeOrigin, Karma Genetics, Alpenhigh, Love of Landrace, Top Tao Seeds and Archive Seedbank.

You will find classics such as White Widow, OG Kush and Gorilla Glue, alongside rarer regular lines that collectors and breeders look for. The shop sells feminized, regular, autoflowering and CBD seeds, with separate sections for outdoor strains. It sells seeds only, not clones or plants. Cannapot Seeds (house line). The Cannapot Seeds category listed 32 products on October 22, 2026, including Bruce Banner #3, Blueberry (DJ Short Blueberry x True Blueberry), Chocolope, Blue Dream, C99 F2, Bob’s Lambsbread, Colombian Thai, RS11, Special Original Haze, Headbanger F2, Jaggen and CBD strains such as Candy Girl CBD. Cannapot says it produces these seeds in Spain, partly on the Canary Islands and partly in Andalusia. Most feminized strains come in 5-packs and most regular strains in 10-packs (some CBD lines in 10, 20 or 30). The Cannapot Seedbox contains 48 feminized seeds: 24 strains with two seeds each.

Storage. Cannapot says it keeps all seeds in industrial refrigerators at about 4 °C, dry and protected from light. We could not verify that independently, but it matches what a SeedFinder reviewer describes. For keeping seeds at home, see our guide on how to store cannabis seeds.

Prices and Pack Sizes

Pack sizes follow the breeder, so they vary from single seeds to 100-packs. Displayed prices include 13% Austrian VAT. Many products were discounted on October 22, 2026 (a “Black Hemp October” promotion plus brand sales, for example 20% off Humboldt Seed Co and Sensi Seeds), so we list the regular price and the price we saw that day:

So the house line is the budget option at roughly €2 to €4.25 a seed on sale (€3.25 to €6.50 at regular prices), mainstream feminized seeds from big breeders cost roughly €7.50 to €9 a seed in 10-packs, and US boutique regular seeds can reach €15 or more per seed. You can order without an account (guest checkout), and the site’s FAQ says account holders receive exclusive discount codes. Returns and refused parcels cost a 10% administration fee on the invoice total.

Shipping by Region

According to the shipping page, standard shipping goes by Austrian Post, shipping costs never exceed €9.99 per order (standard post; Swiss stealth and UPS cost more), and Austrian Post shipping is free from €150. UPS is optional and never free. Orders from €100 travel insured automatically; below that, insurance costs €3.90. Orders leave on Mondays and Wednesdays only, excluding public holidays, and only after payment has arrived.

Shipping costs quoted by the checkout estimator for a small order on October 22, 2026:

• Austria: €6.50 by post, €15 by UPS
• EU (we tested Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Ireland and Sweden) and the UK: €7.50 by post, €20 by UPS
• Canada, Australia and New Zealand: €9.99 by post, €100 by UPS
• United States: stealth shipping €8.99 or UPS €100 (no standard post option)
• Switzerland: stealth shipping only, €17.50

With a cart above €150, the post option dropped to €0 for Austria, Germany, the UK, Canada and Australia, while US stealth shipping stayed at €8.99 and UPS kept its full price. The site’s own FAQ still lists older, lower rates (Austria €5.50, EU €6.50, worldwide €8.99), so trust the checkout figure over the FAQ table.

Delivery times. The FAQ quotes 4 to 8 working days within the EU, 6 to 8 for the rest of Europe and 7 to 21 or more working days worldwide, counted from receipt of payment. Cannapot says it has no influence on transit times. Because dispatch only happens twice a week, an order paid on a Wednesday afternoon may wait until the following Monday.

Packaging and stealth. Parcels are neutral, with no reference to cannabis on the outside. Optional stealth packaging (seeds repacked out of breeder packs into small discreet containers) costs €10 extra on the shipping page; for Switzerland and the US the checkout shows it as the shipping method itself. Stealth orders cannot be returned or exchanged. Parcels sent “poste restante” (held at the post office) cannot be insured.

Customs. Cannapot states that import of cannabis seeds is restricted or banned in some countries and that customers must check their own laws. If customs or another authority refuses or seizes the parcel, there is no refund or replacement, and shipping insurance covers only problems with the postal service or UPS.

Shipping to the US does not make growing legal everywhere. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026 (P.L. 119-37, section 781, as amended by P.L. 119-103), which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped (Congressional Research Service summary). Check your state and local rules before you order.

Germination Guarantee: There Is None

Cannapot does not offer a germination guarantee, and it says so in writing. The English terms state that “there is no guarantee on the seeds because it is living material”, and the German AGB say the same (no guarantee for hemp seeds as living material, on top of the statutory warranty for defective goods).

The FAQ adds that complaints are possible but “sometimes very difficult to enforce”, because Cannapot passes them on to the breeder (except for its own Cannapot Seeds). It names three breeders that in principle do not provide replacements: K.C. Brains, Sensi Seeds and White Label. If seeds fail, contact Cannapot with your order number and photos, but there is no published window, procedure or replacement formula to rely on.

On returns, the two language versions disagree. The German terms give consumers a two-week withdrawal right; the English terms say 10 days and exclude seed packs that have been opened. Stealth orders are excluded from returns either way.

Payment Methods

Payment choice is wide. The payment page lists:

PayPal, Western Union and cash on delivery are not accepted. Cannapot says PayPal does not allow payments for cannabis seeds.

Deals, Loyalty and Discount Codes

These are the ways to pay less at Cannapot (sales checked Oct 22, 2026):

Sales. On October 22, 2026 the site showed brand discounts (Humboldt Seed Co 20% off, Sensi Seeds about 20% off, Brothers Grimm 10% off, among others) and a “Black Hemp October” promotion with about 35% off much of the Cannapot Seeds line. The 2026 Cannapot advent calendar was on early-bird offer at €99 instead of €119 that day. Check the homepage banners for current offers.

Codes. Checkout has a coupon field and the site has a coupon page explaining how to redeem one, but we found no publicly listed code on October 22, 2026. The FAQ says registered customers receive exclusive discount codes. Be careful with codes on third-party coupon sites.

Bonus seeds. Cannapot says it includes bonus seeds with qualifying orders, chosen to match the order where stock allows. Several SeedFinder and Reddit users mention receiving free seeds, though the site publishes no fixed tiers.

Loyalty. We found no points or rewards program on the site.

Customer Service

Cannapot offers these channels:

• CannapotGPT, an AI seed advisor for strain questions

The About page says customer service usually replies within 24 hours on working days. We found no phone number on the site, and there is no live chat with staff. On SeedFinder, customer service is the highest-rated part of the shop (9.59 out of 10). One February 2019 reviewer wrote that Cannapot “respond[s] to emails within 24 hours” and that “if you are unhappy they make you happy”. Negative reviews exist too: a June 2016 reviewer reported old DNA Genetics stock that did not germinate and no compensation, and an October 2024 reviewer reported about two weeks until delivery.

Reputation

SeedFinder. On the SeedFinder page (listed as “Cannapot Hemcy”), the shop has a General Impression score of 9.41 out of 10 from 182 user reviews, with product quality 9.35, delivery speed 9.28 and customer service 9.59, and SeedFinder lists it as “green” (recommended). The newest review was from March 2025 when we checked on October 22, 2026, so the data is not fresh. Cannapot’s own site claims “around 9.7 / 10” on SeedFinder, which is higher than the score shown there. Recurring themes in the reviews are fast replies, bonus seeds and good storage; recurring complaints are occasional slow dispatch (about two weeks in reviews from December 2023 and October 2024) and germination problems with specific batches.

Other platforms. Cannapot’s SmartCustomer (formerly Sitejabber) page had no reviews on October 22, 2026. The shop cites a Google rating of about 4.9 out of 5; we could not verify that figure. We found no BBB profile.

Reddit. Discussion is sparse but mostly positive. In a June 2017 r/microgrowery thread, “Has anyone bought from Cannapot?”, users reported fast email replies and delivery about a week after ordering with free seeds included, while one called the prices “really expensive”. A July 2023 post asked for help identifying freebies from Cannapot, and a March 2025 grower showed a Karma Sour Diesel Bx5 open-pollinated male grown from Cannapot seeds for breeding.

Website and Tools

The shop is available in German, English, Spanish and French and can show prices in euros, US dollars, pounds or Swiss francs. Its Strain Finder filters by seed type, genetics, THC/CBD orientation and indoor or outdoor suitability, and many product pages give genetics, flowering time, aroma and THC figures. Extras include the Canna Wiki blog, a moon calendar and the CannapotGPT advisor.

The weak points are consistency and translation. The English and German terms disagree on the withdrawal period and the place of performance, the FAQ shipping table no longer matches the checkout, the About page quotes a SeedFinder score higher than SeedFinder shows, and some policy pages are clearer in German than in English. The platform is functional but dated. If you buy from overseas, check the shipping estimator in the cart before paying.

Who Cannapot Suits, and Who Should Look Elsewhere

A good fit if you: collect rare, old-school or boutique genetics and want one shop with about 200 breeders; live in Europe and value cheap standard post (max €9.99 outside Switzerland, free from €150); want to pay with crypto, cash or prepaid codes; or want to try the low-priced Cannapot Seeds regular and feminized lines.

Look elsewhere if you: want a written germination guarantee; live in the US and want fast, domestic, tracked delivery in original breeder packs; need PayPal or phone support; or want parcels to ship more than twice a week.

Scoring Summary

Cannapot scores 7.0/10 overall. Product Range is the clear strength at 8.5/10: more than 4,700 listings from about 200 breeders, including rare and landrace lines and an own house line. Shipping and Delivery (7.0/10) earns points for worldwide reach, low standard postage and automatic insurance from €100, and loses them for twice-weekly dispatch, slow overseas transit, US orders limited to stealth or €100 UPS, and no refund on customs seizures. Customer Service also lands at 7.0/10: a stated 24-hour reply time and strong SeedFinder ratings, but no phone line and complaints that depend on the breeder.

Price and Value is 7.0/10, driven by cheap house-line seeds, frequent sales, bonus seeds and many payment options, against the lack of any loyalty program and a high €150 free-shipping threshold. Seed Quality and Germination sits at 6.5/10: good SeedFinder product scores and cold storage, but the terms exclude any germination guarantee and some breeders refuse replacements. Website and UX is the weakest at 6.0/10 because of contradictory terms, outdated FAQ prices and uneven translations.

Final Verdict

Cannapot is a legitimate, long-established Austrian seed shop with a registered operator, a valid EU VAT number and a strong record on SeedFinder. Its selection is among the widest we have seen, with about 200 breeders and plenty of rare and old-school genetics, and its house line is cheap. European buyers get low shipping costs, and almost everyone gets a payment method that suits them.

The trade-offs are clear. There is no germination guarantee, and the terms say so. US buyers can only choose between repacked stealth shipping and expensive UPS, with no refund if customs seizes a parcel. Dispatch happens twice a week, and the policy pages contradict each other in places.
