Amsterdam Seed Center (ASC) is a multi-breeder seed shop with a physical store at Gravenstraat 12, a short walk from Dam Square in Amsterdam, and a webshop that has been selling since 2011. It stocks around 70 breeder brands, from Sensi Seeds and Serious Seeds to Relentless Genetics and Cookies, plus CBD products and vaporizers. Our verdict: a long-running, well-rated shop for buyers in Europe, with one major catch for our main audience: when we checked on October 22, 2026, its checkout offered no shipping option for addresses in the US, Canada or Australia. We score it 6.3/10.
This review is based on Amsterdam Seed Center’s published policies, current prices on its webshop and independent customer feedback. All facts were checked on October 22, 2026.

Buying from Amsterdam Seed Center in the USA
Amsterdam Seed Center’s shipping page says it ships “all over the world” and lists only Turkey, Norway, Bulgaria, Israel and Australia as excluded, and its payment page lists card payments for the United States and Canada. Yet when we ran shipping estimates in the webshop checkout on October 22, 2026, no shipping method was available for US addresses (California, New York and Oregon tested), Canadian addresses (Ontario and British Columbia) or Australian addresses. The same test returned prices for every European country we tried and for countries such as South Africa and Brazil.
In short: as of October 2026, US and Canadian buyers cannot complete an order through the webshop, and Amsterdam Seed Center does not explain this on its policy pages. If you are in North America, ask support (details below) before you try to order, or look at the alternatives in our comparison further down. Visiting the Amsterdam store in person is the other route, but taking seeds across a border is your own legal responsibility.
Who Amsterdam Seed Center Is
Amsterdam Seed Center says it was founded in 2011, and the copyright line on its site runs from 2011 to 2026. The terms and conditions name the company behind the shop as Green Dream B.V., Chamber of Commerce number 52526453, and the Dutch company register lists Green Dream B.V. as an active private limited company at Gravenstraat 12 in Amsterdam (OpenCorporates record). Card statements show Green Dream B.V., not the shop name; with iDEAL and Bancontact, the payment provider’s name appears instead. One oddity: the footer of the website shows a different Chamber of Commerce and VAT number than the terms. The number in the terms is the one that matches the company at the store address.
The store itself is at Gravenstraat 12, about 50 meters from Dam Square, and is open every day from 10:00, until 19:00 according to the About page (the terms list 20:00 on Thursday to Saturday). ASC says it keeps live plants growing in the shop so visitors can see cannabis at different stages, and a February 2025 Reddit comment describes “a shop in the center where they always have plants growing in a tent”. The company also says it stores its seeds in a refrigerator to keep them fresh. We could not verify that claim independently.
Catalog and Seed Types
The range is the main reason to shop here. On October 22, 2026, the seed menu listed about 70 breeder brands, including ACE Seeds, Archive Seedbank, Barney’s Farm, Cali Connection, Compound Genetics, Cookies Seedbank, DNA Genetics, Dutch Passion, Exotic Genetix, Fast Buds, Green House Seeds, Humboldt Seeds, Karma Genetics, Mr. Nice, Paradise Seeds, Rare Dankness, Relentless Genetics, Royal Queen Seeds, Sensi Seeds, Serious Seeds, Soma’s Sacred Seeds, Sweet Seeds, T.H.Seeds and Wizard Trees. ASC claims more than 1,500 strains, although its own pages variously describe the breeder roster as 40+, 50+ or 60+ seedbanks.
You can shop by breeder or by type: feminized, autoflower, regular and CBD seeds, plus categories for landraces, Cup winners, US and Cali breeders and a “Staff Selects” line. Classics such as White Widow, Northern Lights, AK-47 and Amnesia Haze are available from several breeders, and modern lines such as Gorilla Glue crosses sit next to them. Regular seeds are well represented, which matters if you want to make your own selections. If you are still choosing a seed type, our guide to feminized vs autoflower vs regular seeds explains the differences.
Beyond seeds, ASC sells CBD oils and cosmetics from around ten brands, vaporizers from brands like Storz & Bickel, PAX and Arizer, and accessories. Not everything is always available: ASC only sells what it holds in its own warehouse, and several popular products we looked at were out of stock on October 22, 2026. The FAQ says stock is reordered regularly, and out-of-stock product pages offer a “Notify me when back in stock” button.
Prices and Pack Sizes
Because ASC resells breeder packs, pack sizes follow the breeder: typically 3, 5 or 10 seeds for feminized and autoflower strains, and 10 to 12 seeds for many regular packs. These are the prices shown on the webshop on October 22, 2026 (in euros, including Dutch VAT):
| Strain (breeder, type) | Pack | Price | Per seed |
|---|---|---|---|
| Skunk #1 (White Label, feminized) | 3 seeds | €15.00 | €5.00 |
| White Widow (Royal Queen Seeds, feminized) | 5 seeds | €30.00 | €6.00 |
| White Widow (Green House Seeds, feminized) | 5 seeds | €35.00 | €7.00 |
| AK-47 (Serious Seeds, regular) | 11 seeds | €80.00 | €7.27 |
| Cherry Cookie Breath (Relentless Genetics, regular) | 11 seeds | €225.00 | €20.45 |
So budget lines start around €5 a seed, mainstream feminized strains from established European breeders cost roughly €6 to €7.50 a seed, and limited US breeder drops can pass €20 a seed. Smaller packs cost more per seed: the Royal Queen Seeds White Widow 3-pack is €20.00 (€6.67 a seed). The AK-47 pack and the Amnesia Haze 5-pack from Amsterdam Genetics (€36.50) were out of stock on the day we checked. Card payments carry a small fee, which is not included in these prices. Also note the order limit in the terms: a maximum of 25 seeds per person, per order, per day, and a maximum of €250 per order when you pay through the payment processor PAY.NL.
The terms give you a 14-day right of withdrawal after delivery; you pay the return shipping, and refunds are made within 14 days of the return. Bitcoin and cash payments are refunded by bank transfer only.
Shipping by Region
Dispatch. Orders leave the Amsterdam warehouse within one business day after payment, provided everything is in stock. The FAQ adds that most orders go out within 24 hours, Monday to Friday, and that orders placed on a Friday after 15:00 usually ship on Monday.
Europe and the UK. The shipping page lists three options: standard mail for €5.95 without tracking, registered shipping through the courier KDZ for €9.50 to €16.00 depending on the country, and FedEx for €35 with delivery in up to 4 working days. In our checkout test on October 22, 2026, only registered shipping appeared: €9.95 for countries such as the Netherlands, Germany, France, Austria and Poland, and €15.95 for the UK, Ireland, Sweden, Portugal, Greece and the Czech Republic. A test cart of €485 still carried the normal fee, so do not count on free shipping. ASC quotes 3 to 15 working days for delivery. Registered parcels need a signature, and tracking typically only updates once the parcel reaches your country. With standard mail you carry the risk: ASC does not refund or replace lost or seized untracked parcels.
Rest of the world. The checkout showed €23.50 registered shipping for countries such as South Africa, Brazil, Chile and Thailand, but no option for the US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan or Mexico. Norway, Turkey, Bulgaria and Israel are excluded on the shipping and FAQ pages, although checkout still showed registered shipping for Bulgaria (€15.95) and Israel (€23.50); Norway and Turkey had no option.
Packaging and addresses. Orders go out in plain padded envelopes with no reference to cannabis, and the sender name is not Amsterdam Seed Center. A stealth packaging option costs €5 extra. ASC only delivers to private addresses, not to PO boxes, Packstations, relay points or forwarding companies, and it states that the customer is responsible once a parcel leaves the warehouse, including if customs stops it.
Shipping to the US does not make growing legal everywhere. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026 (P.L. 119-37, section 781, as amended by P.L. 119-103), which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped (Congressional Research Service summary). Check your state and local rules before you order.
Germination Guarantee: What ASC Actually Offers
Amsterdam Seed Center does not publish a germination guarantee with a percentage or automatic replacement. What it does publish, in its FAQ, is a claims procedure:
- Report the problem within 90 days of placing the original order.
- Include your order number, which strains and how many seeds failed, the germination method you used and any supporting photos.
- ASC forwards the report to the breeder, who judges each case individually.
- ASC does not help customers who germinate in countries or states where that is illegal.
Similar case-by-case rules apply to hermaphrodite plants and male plants from feminized seeds; there, photos are essential if you want replacement seeds. Because the decision rests with the breeder, outcomes can differ per brand. Keep your order number and photograph every step.
Payment Methods
The payment page and the checkout (checked October 22, 2026) offer more options than most seedbanks:
- Visa and Mastercard with 3D Secure, for a small card fee
- iDEAL (processed immediately), Bancontact and Pay by Bank, formerly Giropay (up to 3 days). The payment page still lists Sofort, but checkout did not offer it.
- Bank transfer, either automated through the payment provider PAY.NL or manually to Green Dream B.V. for payments from outside the EU
- Bitcoin through a crypto payment processor (no chargebacks)
- Cash sent by registered mail to the Amsterdam store, at your own risk
PayPal, cheques, money orders and cash on delivery are not accepted. Card payments are charged in euros and show Green Dream B.V. on your statement; with iDEAL and Bancontact, the payment provider’s name appears instead.
Deals, Loyalty and Discount Codes
As of October 2026, these are the ways to pay less at Amsterdam Seed Center:
Discount code. When we tested the code SEEDS4U in the webshop cart on October 22, 2026, it was accepted as a 10% discount. Codes can be withdrawn at any time, and ASC does not publish this one on its own pages.
Newsletter. Signing up gives you a code for 10% off your first order, according to the homepage.
Volume discounts. The FAQ lists automatic discounts of 5% on orders over €500, 10% over €1,000 and 15% over €1,500. The terms, however, cap orders at 25 seeds per person per day and €250 per order when paid through PAY.NL, which limits how useful these volume discounts are.
Monthly promos. The promotions page listed 20% off Monkey Genetics, Royal Queen Seeds, World Breeders and T.H.Seeds on October 22, 2026, plus one free promo seed with orders from Fast Buds, Paradise Seeds and Pure Instinto. ASC also runs a sale section.
Loyalty points. The Loyalty Points Program gives registered customers 1 point per €1 spent on completed orders, redeemable as a discount at checkout. ASC does not publish how much a point is worth, so you only see the value once you have points in your account.
Customer Service
ASC offers several channels, listed on its contact page:
- Email: [email protected], answered in English, French, German and Dutch, with a stated aim of replying within 24 hours (weekend emails usually on Monday)
- Phone: +31 (0)20 7370060
- A contact form on the website
- The Amsterdam store, open daily from 10:00 (until 19:00, or 20:00 on Thursday to Saturday according to the terms)
The terms commit to answering complaints within 14 days. Missing items must be reported within one week of delivery, with a photo of the contents and the order number. There is no Better Business Bureau profile for ASC, and its SmartCustomer page had no reviews on October 22, 2026, so most public feedback sits on Kiyoh and SeedFinder (see below). Several customers there mention that support resolved problems, while others report non-delivery that was not resolved to their satisfaction.
Reputation
Kiyoh. On the Dutch review platform Kiyoh, which labels its reviews as verified, Amsterdam Seed Center scored 8.5 out of 10 from 2,912 reviews on October 22, 2026, with 87% of reviewers recommending the shop. The score over the last 12 months was lower: 8.2 from 271 reviews. Kiyoh’s summary highlights fast delivery, the wide selection and helpful service, and notes a few reports about refunds and germination. Recent negative reviews include an October 2026 report that none of six seeds germinated and a September 2026 report of no germination except the free seeds. The rating widget on ASC’s own site shows nearly the same count (2,911).
SeedFinder. The SeedFinder seedbank page lists ASC as “green” (recommended) with user ratings of 8.07 for product quality, 8.57 for delivery speed, 8.17 for customer service and 8.27 overall, based on 35 reviews. Most of those reviews are from 2015 to 2019 and largely positive; the most recent ones report an order that was never shipped (February 2024) and one that never arrived (February 2023).
Reddit. Amsterdam Seed Center comes up mainly in threads about buying seeds in person in Amsterdam. In a December 2022 r/AmsterdamEnts thread one user recommends the store’s binder of seeds from many seedbanks and the staff’s advice, and in a February 2025 thread on seed banks two users name ASC as a go-to shop for its mix of mainstream and small breeders. We found little Reddit discussion of its webshop orders.
Website and User Experience
The webshop works in six languages (English, Dutch, German, French, Italian and Spanish) and the breeder-based menu makes it quick to find a specific pack if you know what you want. Product pages show pack sizes, prices and stock status, and there are “Top 5” lists for indica, sativa, autoflower and high-THC seeds.
The weak point is outdated and inconsistent information. The FAQ still opens with a COVID-19 notice, says in one answer that an account is required and in another that guest checkout is possible, and its list of excluded countries differs from the shipping page. The shipping prices on the policy page do not match what checkout charges, nothing on the site tells North American buyers that checkout will not ship to them, and the footer shows a different company number than the terms. Once your seeds arrive, our indoor cannabis growing setup guide and our guide on when to harvest cannabis cover the next steps.
Who Amsterdam Seed Center Suits, and Who Should Look Elsewhere
A good fit if you: live in the EU or the UK and want a very wide choice of breeders in one order (within the 25-seed daily limit); want to pay with iDEAL, bank transfer, Bitcoin or cash; are hunting regular seeds or less common breeders; or are visiting Amsterdam and want to shop in person.
Look elsewhere if you: live in the US, Canada or Australia (no shipping option at checkout); want a written germination guarantee with fixed terms; want free shipping; want to place large orders (25 seeds per person per day maximum); or want to pay with PayPal.
Scoring Summary
| Category | Score |
|---|---|
| Seed Quality and Germination | 6.0/10 |
| Shipping and Delivery | 5.0/10 |
| Customer Service | 7.0/10 |
| Product Range | 8.0/10 |
| Price and Value | 6.5/10 |
| Website and UX | 5.5/10 |
| Overall | 6.3/10 |
Amsterdam Seed Center scores 6.3/10 overall. Product Range is the clear strength at 8.0/10: about 70 breeder brands, many regular and landrace lines and US breeders next to the Dutch and Spanish classics. Customer Service follows at 7.0/10, with email in four languages, a phone line, a store open seven days a week and an 8.5 Kiyoh score from 2,912 reviews, held back by unresolved non-delivery reports on SeedFinder. Price and Value lands at 6.5/10: seed prices are normal for genuine breeder packs, and promos, a 10% newsletter code, volume discounts and loyalty points help, but there is no free shipping and card payments carry a fee.
Seed Quality and Germination sits at 6.0/10: the seeds are original breeder packs and there is a clear 90-day claims procedure, but no fixed guarantee, and germination complaints appear among recent Kiyoh reviews. Website and UX scores 5.5/10 because policy pages contradict each other and checkout. Shipping and Delivery is the weakest category at 5.0/10: fast dispatch from Amsterdam and reasonable European rates, offset by no checkout option for the US, Canada or Australia, no free-shipping threshold and tracking that usually starts only in the destination country.

Scores and details come from each seedbank's own review on this site and update when that review is re-checked.
If you are in Europe and want another large multi-brand shop, compare our Zamnesia review and our Herbies review. US and Canadian buyers who need a shop that actually delivers to them should check the current shipping terms in our Seedsman review and the other reviews in our hub. If the Amsterdam connection is what draws you, our Nirvana review covers another long-running Amsterdam name.
Final Verdict
Amsterdam Seed Center is a legitimate, long-running Dutch shop: a registered company, a physical store near Dam Square that is open every day, an 8.5 Kiyoh score from close to 3,000 verified reviews and one of the widest breeder selections we have seen in a single webshop. For European buyers who know what they want, and especially for anyone hunting regular seeds or smaller breeders, it is a solid place to order.
The gaps are concrete. On October 22, 2026, its checkout offered no shipping to the US, Canada or Australia, there is no free-shipping threshold, germination claims are judged case by case by the breeder, and several policy pages are outdated or contradict each other. North American readers should look elsewhere for now. To compare the rest of the field, see our seedbank review hub.

What Changed in This Update
Compared with our March 2026 version, this review corrects the shipping picture (no checkout option for the US, Canada or Australia on October 22, 2026), adds the loyalty program, SeedFinder ratings and current Kiyoh figures, lists the germination claims procedure, prices, payment methods, discount codes and the order limit, and recalculates the score from 5.3 to 6.3. Unverifiable claims and the old comparison table were removed.
