ILGM Review 2026: US Shipping, Prices and Guarantee Terms

ILGM (I Love Growing Marijuana) is a US-only online seedbank that has sold cannabis seeds since 2015, after starting as a grow blog in 2012. It ships from a warehouse in Florida, runs a large grow guide library and forum, and sells mostly its own ILGM-branded feminized and autoflower seeds next to a handful of partner breeders. Our verdict: a legitimate, beginner-oriented shop with free and fast domestic shipping and a germination guarantee with clear (but strict) conditions, held back by high per-seed prices on small packs, mixed independent feedback and unanswered complaints on its BBB profile. We score it 7.2/10.

ILGM at a Glance

Buying ILGM Seeds in the USA

ILGM is built for US buyers and only for US buyers. Its shipping page says seeds go “all over the USA from our warehouse in Florida”, always with USPS tracking. Orders of $50 or more ship free; in a test cart on October 22, 2026, a $9.99 accessory order was charged a $15 flat rate, while a $74 seed pack shipped free. Because the cheapest seed pack is $74, any order with seeds in it clears the threshold.

ILGM does not ship outside the US. The support FAQ adds that using a mail forwarding service is at your own risk, because its delivery guarantee only covers US addresses. You must be 21 or older to order, and ILGM’s terms describe its seeds as “collectible, adult novelty souvenirs” and make customers responsible for following local law. Who ILGM Is

According to its About page, “I Love Growing Marijuana” began in 2012 as a blog by founder Robert Bergman, who also wrote the free Cannabis Grow Bible the site still hands out. The online store opened in 2015, and in 2024 the company moved its international team into a new office in Amsterdam. The story of Robert Bergman comes from ILGM itself; we found no independent profile of him.

Day to day, the company is run by CEO Ernst Rustenhoven, who took over in March 2024. Dutch business site MT/Sprout reported in October 2024 that ILGM is a partly Amsterdam-based company of about twenty people selling seeds to US consumers, owned by its founders, and that it had moved from a farmhouse near Amersfoort to Amsterdam. SeedFinder also lists ILGM as located in the Netherlands. The Modesto, California address in the site footer is a mailing address; ILGM adds “No sales or service at this address.” ILGM’s terms and privacy policy do not name the legal entity behind the store.

Ownership has also been in the news. On December 4, 2024, Barney’s Farm, Sensi Seeds and ILGM announced a merger agreement at MJBizCon, expected to close in early 2025, with each brand keeping its own identity (ILGM press release). On September 1, 2025, Barney’s Farm announced in a press release that it no longer intended to complete a proposed merger with PowerPlant, Inc., citing, among other things, PowerPlant’s “failure to transfer funding by contracted deadline dates”. Barney’s Farm founder Derry Brett told Business of Cannabis that PowerPlant was “the vehicle and driver that put the proposed merger together”. PowerPlant, Sensi Seeds and ILGM had not responded to requests for comment when Business of Cannabis reported it on September 12, 2025. The same article noted that PowerPlant’s website referred to “acquisitions of ILGM.com”, which the publication could not confirm; an archived June 2026 copy of PowerPlant’s homepage no longer names ILGM. We found no confirmation of a change in ILGM’s ownership.

Catalog and Seed Types

The catalog is far bigger than a short list of house strains. On October 22, 2026 the cannabis seeds category held 304 products: 188 feminized and 114 autoflower, all in stock. Most carry the ILGM brand (277 products), including classics such as White Widow, Blue Dream, Granddaddy Purple, Northern Lights Auto and Runtz, plus long-running ILGM lines such as Gold Leaf and Girl Scout Cookies Extreme. Mix packs (for example Beginner Mix and several autoflower mixes) come in 15, 30 and 60 seeds.

Of the remaining 27 products, 21 come from a small group of featured breeders (six more carry no brand label): Phylos (including Premium and Elite lines), Happy Valley Genetics, Green Bodhi, Grounded Genetics and Colors by Cultivar. ILGM says these breeders are officially licensed and exclusively distributed through its store, and that their genetics are lab-verified with third-party certificates of analysis on every batch. We did not see a certificate on the ILGM-branded product page we checked. We found no regular (non-feminized) seeds in the catalog. Strain pages are detailed, with THC range, yield estimates, flowering time, difficulty level and terpenes, and a Strain Finder lets you filter by traits, climate and difficulty (169 seed products are tagged Beginner). Beyond seeds, ILGM sells grow kits, nutrients (including Homegrown Cannabis Co. products), accessories and hemp-derived THCa products.

Prices and Pack Sizes

Most strains come in 5, 10 and 20 seed packs. These are the regular prices (checked Nov 1, 2026):

Across the whole seed catalog, 5-packs cost $74 to $94 ($14.80 to $18.80 a seed), 10-packs $89 to $149 ($8.90 to $14.90 a seed) and 20-packs $149 to $199 ($7.45 to $9.95 a seed). Mix packs bring the price down further: the Beginner Mix costs $129 for 15 seeds, $179 for 30 and $319 for 60 ($5.32 a seed). Small packs are expensive compared with many seedbanks, so the 10 and 20 seed packs are where ILGM’s pricing makes more sense.

Product pages still label many packs “Buy 1 Get 1 Free”. As of November 2026, most ILGM-branded seed packs and several mix packs also show a 20% discount on the regular price, with the regular price crossed out: White Widow Autoflower costs $59.20, $79.20 and $127.20 for 5, 10 and 20 seeds, and the 60-seed Beginner Mix costs $255.20 (about $4.25 a seed). Not every product is discounted (the Outdoor Mix, for example, sells at its regular price), and ILGM shows no end date for the discount, so check the price in your cart. Returns are possible within 14 days of receipt for unused, unopened products and only with prior authorization; damaged or defective items must be reported within 14 days, per the terms and conditions.

Shipping and Delivery

United States. According to the shipping page, ILGM ships within 1 to 3 business days after payment is processed, usually within one day, and the order should arrive within 2 to 5 business days. You get a USPS tracking number by email within 1 to 2 business days. Parcels go out in a sturdy padded envelope with no mention of cannabis or ILGM on the outside. Shipping is free from $50 and $15 below that.

Canada, UK, EU and Australia. ILGM does not ship to these countries or anywhere else outside the US.

Mixed messages on timing. The support FAQ says orders “typically arrive within 3 to 5 business days”, the shipping page says 2 to 5, and the site banner promises delivery “within 1 to 5 days”. Plan for the longer estimate. The shipping page also admits that the numbers printed on seed packages “can be a little confusing” and says this will be improved, so keep your order confirmation with your seeds.

Shipping to the US does not make growing legal everywhere. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026 (P.L. 119-37, section 781, as amended by P.L. 119-103), which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped (Congressional Research Service summary). Check your state and local rules before you order.

Germination Guarantee: The Exact Terms

ILGM markets a “100% germination guarantee”. What that means in practice is set out on its germination guarantee page. You are covered if you used ILGM’s paper towel method exactly as shown in its germination guide, you have your order number or receipt, and the seeds were stored in a cool, dry, stable place for under 12 months. You are not covered if the seeds were stored longer than 12 months, were exposed to extreme heat, cold or humidity, or if you used a different germination method.

For a small claim, the order number or receipt is enough. If more than 30% of your seeds failed, or if this is your second or later replacement request, ILGM also asks for a photo or video of the ungerminated seeds, the method you used, your packing slip and order confirmation visible in the photo, and a clear photo of your setup. Claims go through the contact form, ILGM reviews them, and approved replacements ship free: the number of seeds that did not germinate plus one extra, in the same strain when possible or a suitable alternative if it is unavailable.

Two caveats. First, the support FAQ still describes older wording (claims “within 12 months of purchase” and “one reship per order”), which differs from the guarantee page; the guarantee page is the more detailed and current text. Second, the guarantee is limited to germination. Customer feedback about plants that turned out male or did not match the expected type falls outside it (see Reputation below). Photograph your seeds and the paper towel setup from the start, so you have the evidence if you need to claim.

Payment Methods

ILGM’s support FAQ lists four groups of payment options: credit cards (“all major credit cards”; the site shows Visa and Mastercard logos), bank payments by Zelle, ACH, wire transfer, check or money order, cash sent by mail, and Bitcoin. We found no mention of PayPal or Discover on the site. In a guest test cart, checkout offered a card payment gateway and check or money order.

Deals, Loyalty and Discount Codes

As of November 2026, these are the ways to pay less at ILGM:

Running promotions. On November 1, 2026 the site advertised “Buy 10 Get 10 Free” on best-selling seeds plus a free gift on orders of $150 or more. Most ILGM-branded seed packs showed 20% off the regular price (see Prices above), and a pop-up offered Gold Leaf at 50% off.

Discount codes. ILGM’s checkout accepts discount codes, but we found no public code on the site on November 1, 2026. Codes on third-party coupon sites may be expired, so check them at checkout before you rely on them. ILGM also runs a free monthly giveaway: as of November 2026 its giveaway page offers one randomly drawn entrant $300 in store credit each month, valid for 12 months (entrants 21 or older). The giveaway rules in ILGM’s terms still describe an older $500 seed prize, so go by the giveaway page.

I Love Rewards. The loyalty program, described on the rewards page and in the terms, gives 1 Love Point per dollar spent (excluding taxes, shipping and discounts) and 50 points for joining. Tiers are based on spending in the past 12 months: Exploring Grower (free), Rising Cultivator ($150), Green Thumb ($300) and Master Grower ($500), with entry gifts and extra points for reviews, birthdays and social follows at higher tiers. Points expire two years after they are earned. ILGM does not publish a fixed value per point, so you cannot calculate the cashback in advance. The old loyalty program ended on September 25, 2025, and its points were not carried over.

Harvest Pass. Until May 1, 2027, members can unlock rising discounts on repeat orders. According to the terms, that means 25% off the second order, 30% off the third, 40% off the fourth and 50% off the fifth. The rewards page shows different steps (25% after the first purchase, 30% after the second and 50% after the third), so check your account before you plan around a discount. ILGM can change or end the offer at any time.

Customer Service

ILGM lists these channels on its support page:

Public complaint handling is weaker. The Better Business Bureau lists “I Love Growing Marijuana” at the Modesto address as not BBB accredited, and its search listing showed an F rating on October 22, 2026. The BBB complaints page shows 4 complaints in the last three years, 1 of them in the last 12 months. The three most recent (April 17, 2025, April 26, 2025 and February 16, 2026, the last one describing a germination claim and support emails the customer said went unanswered) are marked “Unanswered”; an older complaint from March 2024 was answered.

Reputation

Independent scores for ILGM vary by platform (checked November 1, 2026):

• Kiyoh: 8.8/10 from 34,739 reviews, 1,070 of them in the last 12 months, with 91% recommending ILGM. Kiyoh only collects reviews by invitation after a registered purchase, so this reflects buyers ILGM invited.
• SeedFinder: General Impression 9.11/10 from 1,137 user reviews. The written reviews shown first date from 2020 to 2023 and include both praise for fast replacements and complaints about germination rates and seeds that turned out male.
• SmartCustomer (formerly Sitejabber): 3.9/5 from 129 reviews, the most recent from May 2025.
• BBB: not accredited, F rating (as of October 22, 2026), three recent complaints unanswered (see Customer Service).

ILGM’s own product pages show high on-site ratings (for example 4.9 from 1,602 reviews for White Widow Autoflower). That is an on-site score collected by ILGM, so give it less weight than an independent platform.

On Reddit, ILGM divides opinion. In a r/microgrowery thread from November 2023 (“iLGM really that bad?”, 225 comments), several growers report years of good results with strains such as Granddaddy Purple and Godfather OG, while others describe unstable autoflowers and seeds that did not match the expected type. A first-grow thread from August 2022 shows the same split. In a June 2025 thread, a buyer asked why ILGM marketing emails reached a work address; an ILGM representative replied in the thread, and the poster later wrote that ILGM had sent free seeds while it looked into the issue. In a May 2026 thread about a first Blue Dream harvest, one commenter criticizes ILGM for selling strains that are clone-only or copy other breeders’ strain names. ILGM’s product pages credit classic strains to their original breeders (White Widow Autoflower to Shantibaba at Green House Seeds) and say Robert Bergman created Gold Leaf, but ILGM does not say who produces its own seed stock, so these criticisms cannot be checked either way.

Website and Grow Resources

The store is easy to use: clear categories for feminized, autoflower, beginner, high-THC and climate-specific seeds, detailed strain pages, a Strain Finder, an AI grow assistant and a big library of guides. Order tracking is built into the account area.

Consistency is the weak spot. Delivery estimates differ between the FAQ, the shipping page and the banner; the footer phone number differs from the one in the site’s structured data; the support FAQ and the guarantee page describe different guarantee terms; the terms and the rewards page list different Harvest Pass discount steps; and a default Magento placeholder privacy page (“Please replace this text with you Privacy Policy”) is still reachable next to the real privacy policy. When pages conflict, go by the dedicated shipping and guarantee pages.

Who ILGM Suits, and Who Should Look Elsewhere

A good fit if you: live in the US and want free, tracked domestic shipping from a US warehouse; are a beginner who values grow guides, a forum and beginner-labeled strains; buy 10 or 20 seed packs or mix packs, where the per-seed price drops; or want a germination guarantee with written conditions.

Look elsewhere if you: live outside the US; only want small packs at a low per-seed price; want regular seeds or a wide range of named breeders; want to know who bred and produced the seeds you buy; or put a lot of weight on public complaint responses. Scoring Summary

ILGM scores 7.2/10 overall. Shipping and Delivery is the strongest category at 7.8/10: free USPS tracked shipping on every seed order from a Florida warehouse, dispatch within 1 to 3 business days and discreet packaging, limited by the fact that ILGM ships to the US only. Seed Quality and Germination and Product Range both land at 7.5/10. The guarantee replaces failed seeds plus one extra, and SeedFinder and Kiyoh scores are high, but the guarantee requires the paper towel method and extra evidence for larger claims, and independent feedback on true-to-type results is mixed. The range of 304 seed products is broad for a shop built mainly on its own brand, but it has no regular seeds and only a few partner breeders.

Customer Service scores 6.8/10: live chat, email, a forum and strong grow education, offset by three recent BBB complaints marked unanswered and conflicting phone numbers. Price and Value and Website and UX both sit at 6.5/10. Small packs are expensive per seed, although 20-packs, mix packs, frequent “buy 10 get 10” deals and the Harvest Pass help. The site is easy to use, but several pages contradict each other on delivery times and guarantee terms.

ILGM is a legitimate, long-running US seed shop that does the basics well for American beginners: free tracked shipping from Florida on every seed order, a catalog of 304 feminized and autoflower products, and a germination guarantee with written conditions and a “failed seeds plus one” replacement. Its grow guides and forum are among the more useful free resources attached to any seedbank.

The trade-offs are concrete. Small packs cost $14.80 to $18.80 a seed, the guarantee only applies if you follow ILGM’s paper towel method and keep evidence, independent reviews range from very positive (Kiyoh, SeedFinder) to critical (Reddit, BBB), and the site contradicts itself on several details. What Changed in This Update

This update replaces several outdated details. ILGM’s seed catalog has 304 products rather than about 15 core strains, and it does not sell regular seeds. Per-seed prices run from about $5.32 to $18.80, the germination guarantee terms are now spelled out in full, and review platform figures were refreshed (SmartCustomer 3.9/5, Kiyoh 34,739 reviews, SeedFinder 9.11/10). The company’s location was corrected: the team works from Amsterdam, Modesto is a mailing address and orders ship from Florida. A November 2026 check added the current 20% discount on most seed packs and the $300 monthly store credit giveaway.
