True North Seed Bank (TNSB) is a multi-breeder seed shop that says it is based in Canada and whose copyright notice dates back to 2011. It stocks the Canuk Seeds line, which appears to share an operator with TNSB, next to 28 other breeders, ships worldwide, and sends US orders from a warehouse in the United States. Our verdict: a long-running, legitimate shop with free shipping over CA$165 in Canada and the US and a written 85% germination guarantee, held back by a 7.5% card fee, strict guarantee conditions and mixed independent feedback. We score it 6.2/10.
This review is based on True North Seed Bank’s published policies, current and recently archived prices, and independent customer feedback. All facts were checked on October 22, 2026. The site sits behind a bot check, so some policy pages could only be read in their most recent archived version; where that is the case, we say so and give the date.

Buying True North Seed Bank Seeds from the USA
US buyers are now the shop’s main focus. The homepage (archived May 13, 2026) says that “USA orders ship from our U.S. based warehouse for faster delivery” and that both US and Canadian orders over CA$165 (about US$120) ship free. Below that amount, checkout offers a flat shipping rate. TNSB says most customers get tracking information within one business day, and its FAQ says orders from the US and Canada usually arrive within 7 days.
Two things to know before you order. First, prices on the site can be shown in US dollars, but you are charged in Canadian dollars, so your card statement will differ slightly from the screen. Second, card payments carry a 7.5% processing fee, according to the last archived payment page. Crypto, cash and money orders had no fee. Read the legal note in the shipping section below as well: US shipping does not make growing legal in every state.
Who True North Seed Bank Is
True North Seed Bank describes itself on its About page as a trusted international supplier of cannabis seeds based in Canada. The footer carries “© 2011-2026”, and grow forum members discussed the shop as early as 2019.
The company behind the site is not named in its terms. In January 2024 the footer named NASB Inc in Bowmanville, Ontario. From March 2024 to October 2025 the footer and product pages listed Delta Trading LLC, 1267 Willis St #200, Redding, California, as contact address (marked “not for payments”). The 2026 pages show only phone numbers, opening hours and an email address. The phone lines are 249-GET-SEED (249-438-7333) for Canada and 585-THC-SEED (585-842-7333) for the US; these are regular numbers, not toll-free lines.
Link with Canuk Seeds. True North Seed Bank and Canuk Seeds appear to share an operator. Both sites list the same two phone numbers and opening hours, both named Delta Trading LLC in Redding as contact address in 2025, their germination policies are word for word the same and their payment terms closely match (the same 7.5% card fee and largely the same methods), and TNSB promotes a free Canuk Seeds catalog and sells Canuk Gear and Canuk PUKs. Neither site states the relationship outright. For buyers this means that Canuk Seeds is not an independent second opinion: largely the same policies apply at both stores.
Catalog and Seed Types
TNSB is a reseller: apart from the Canuk Seeds line, the quality of what you receive depends on the breeder you pick. The menu on the homepage in May 2026 listed 29 brands, Canuk Seeds included: 42 Fast Buds, Ace Seeds, Barney’s Farm, BC Bud Depot, BlimBurn Seeds, Bulk Seeds Guru, Cali Connection, Canuk Seeds, Crockett Family Farms, DNA Genetics, Dutch Passion, Female Seeds, Flash Seeds, Green House Seed Co., Growers Choice, Nirvana Seeds, Oasis Genetics, Paradise Seeds, Prism Seeds, Pyramid Seeds, Royal Queen Seeds, Samsara Seeds, Sensi Seeds, Serious Seeds, Super Sativa Seed Club, Sweet Seeds, The Bulldog Seeds, T.H. Seeds and White Label Seed Company. G13 Labs and CBD Crew, still listed in early 2024, are no longer on it.
Seed types cover regular seeds, feminized seeds, feminized F1, autoflowering and auto feminized seeds, plus high-CBD strains. You can buy single seeds, and the homepage mentions bulk packs of up to 1,000 seeds. The Canuk Seeds range includes “Elite” strains, fast versions and the Canuk PUK mix packs. Canuk bestsellers in 2025 included Blue Dream, Wedding Cake, Gelato Auto and White Widow. Note that Canuk Seeds product pages state these seeds are for sale only in Canada and the US.
Strain pages list THC and CBD content, flowering time, yield and plant height, and the shop offers filters (breeder, pack size, flowering time, taste, effect) plus an Advanced Cannabis Seed Finder. Useful shortcuts if you are browsing by trait: high-THC seeds and high-yield seeds.
Prices and Pack Sizes
Pack sizes depend on the breeder: Canuk Elite feminized strains come in 1, 3 and 7 seed packs, many autos in 5 and 10 packs, and breeder packs follow the breeder’s own sizes. Product prices load through scripts that we could not read live, so the examples below come from archived product pages. US dollar amounts are the shop’s own conversion from Canadian dollars.
| Product (type) | Pack and price | Per seed | Page date |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blue Dream, Canuk Seeds Elite (feminized) | 1 seed US$13.34 (out of stock); 3 seeds US$36.08; 7 seeds US$79.38 | $13.34; $12.03; $11.34 | Sept 13, 2025 |
| Blackberry Moonrocks Auto, Canuk Seeds Elite (auto feminized) | 5 seeds US$58.96; 10 seeds US$107.08 | $11.79; $10.71 | Sept 5, 2025 |
| AK-48 Auto, Nirvana Seeds (auto feminized) | 5 seeds US$31.73 (out of stock) | $6.35 | Oct 13, 2025 |
On the homepage of May 13, 2026, new Canuk Elite feminized strains started at US$40.12, the new 42 Fast Buds autos at US$52.52, Nirvana Black Jack feminized at US$43.55 and the Canuk “Build-A-Puk” mix pack at US$145.91. Overall, expect roughly $6 to $13 per seed for most products, with the 7.5% card fee on top if you pay by card. Every order over CA$50 gets free seeds, per the About page.
Returns are limited. According to the archived returns and refunds page, you must confirm a return within 7 days of receipt, goods must be new, unused and in original packaging, shipping costs are not refunded, and refunds are made by store credit only. Out-of-stock items are refunded to your card, per the FAQ.
Shipping by Region
United States and Canada. Free shipping over CA$165 (about US$120), flat rate below that. US orders ship from a US warehouse. The last readable archived version of the delivery page (March 2024) quoted 5 to 14 working days and a flat fee of CA$20 for Canada and CA$19 for the US. That version predates the US warehouse and the CA$165 threshold, so check the current rate at checkout. The FAQ says North American orders usually arrive within 7 days. Canadian tracking emails come from Canada Post, and US parcels are tracked through USPS.
UK, Europe and Australia. TNSB ships worldwide. The same March 2024 delivery page listed Europe at CA$75 (3 to 14 working days), Australia and New Zealand at CA$150 (7 to 21 working days) and the rest of the world at CA$110 (up to 25 working days). Those rates date from 2024 and may have changed. Canuk Seeds products are sold only to Canada and the US. TNSB’s own legal disclaimer warns that germinating cannabis seeds without a license is illegal in the UK and that it sells seeds to such countries as souvenirs only.
Packaging and tracking. All orders are tracked and no signature is needed. Seeds usually ship in the breeder’s packaging, wrapped in bubble wrap inside a padded envelope that shows only the address, a stamp and a tracking label, without a company name. For extra stealth TNSB recommends adding an “Extra Safe” item such as a T-shirt or mug, or removal from breeder packaging, especially for North America and Australia.
Delivery Insurance. For Canada and the US only, you can add Guaranteed Delivery Insurance for CA$19.99. If tracking confirms the parcel was not delivered, TNSB resends the order or issues store credit, once per order; for an intercepted parcel you must send photo proof. Without insurance, the shop states it is not responsible for parcels lost in the post. This matters: several of the complaints we found (see Reputation) are about uninsured parcels that never arrived.
Shipping to the US does not make growing legal everywhere. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026 (P.L. 119-37, section 781, as amended by P.L. 119-103), which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped (Congressional Research Service summary). Check your state and local rules before you order.
Germination Guarantee: The Exact Terms
TNSB publishes a written guarantee. Its germination policy offers “a guarantee of 85% germination rate (in countries where germination is legal)”. The conditions are strict:
- Only one claim per order. Seeds germinated before or after the claim are not considered, so germinate everything you want covered at the same time.
- Claims must be made within 90 days of the delivery date.
- You must follow the shop’s Germination Guide (paper towel method) and show it, for example with photos or video of the seeds on a damp paper towel.
- The guarantee is void if you planted directly in soil or used a seed starter kit, rock wool, peat pellets or any other germination device.
- Freebies, clearance items, orders paid with store credit, reshipments and BOGO packs are not covered; BOGO packs in the original order count as replacements.
- Approved claims get the same strain as a replacement, and you pay the shipping.
- Keep any seeds that did not sprout, because you may be asked to return them.
Claims go by ticket or email only (choose “Germination” in the contact form) with your name, order number, strain names and number of failed seeds, a detailed description of your method and photos or video. A written percentage with a claim window is more than many shops offer, but the method rules mean many growers who use starter plugs or direct sowing will not qualify.
Payment Methods
The last archived payment page (August 27, 2025) lists:
- Credit or debit card, Canada and US only, with a 7.5% processing fee (card brands are not named on the payment page)
- International money order in USD or CAD
- Cash by registered mail, with 10% off (sent at your own risk)
- Bank transfer, not available for the US and Canada, with a CA$17.50 fee
- e-Transfer, Canada only
- Cryptocurrency, with 25% off: Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Dogecoin, Dash, XRP, USDC and several others
All orders are charged in Canadian dollars, must be paid in full before shipping, and only one discount code applies per order. Customers pay any import duties.
Deals, Loyalty and Discount Codes
As of October 2026, we found no public True North Seed Bank coupon code on the shop’s own pages, and we do not list codes from third-party coupon sites. These are the published ways to pay less:
Newsletter. Signing up gives “an instant 20% discount on your next order” and entry into a monthly draw for free seeds worth US$100. Codes are entered in the cart before checkout.
Payment discounts. In August 2025 the payment page offered 25% off for crypto and 10% off for cash. Check the payment page for current rates.
Free seeds and sales. Free seeds come with every order over CA$50. The site runs a clearance section (marked 75% off in 2025 and 2026), single-seed deals and rotating sales.
True Loyalty Program. The loyalty program gives 1,500 points for opening an account, 2,000 for the newsletter, 10 points per CA$1 spent (subtotal excluding tax, shipping and discounts), 100 per published review and 5,000 on your birthday, plus points for referrals. Every 500 points is worth CA$1, so purchases earn about 2% back. Points expire 180 days after you earn them, except referral points.
Customer Service
TNSB offers these channels, per its contact page:
- Phone: 249-438-7333 (Canada) and 585-842-7333 (US), Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Eastern, closed weekends and holidays; the header lists the order hotline from 7:30 AM
- Email: [email protected]
- Contact form with issue types such as payment, delivery, change of address, cancellation and germination
- Phone orders, plus an FAQ, delivery and payment pages
Phone support in both countries is a plus. Public complaint handling is harder to judge: refunds for returns are store credit only, the guarantee and insurance terms are strict, and some forum posts describe slow or no replies (see below), while others praise quick responses.
Reputation
Independent review data on True North Seed Bank is thin and mostly several years old.
- SmartCustomer (formerly Sitejabber): no reviews and an unclaimed profile on October 22, 2026.
- BBB: we found no Better Business Bureau profile for True North Seed Bank.
- SeedFinder: 7.06/10 from 14 user reviews (product quality 6.8, delivery speed 7, customer service 7.38). The newest reviews date from 2021; two describe uninsured parcels that went to the wrong state, after which the shop said it could not help without insurance, and one an order that never arrived.
On forums the picture is mixed:
- A Growers Network thread from July to November 2019 includes several members who recommend TNSB, one calling it “very reliable” after a couple of years of orders.
- In a Growers Network thread from July to October 2020, one buyer reported that a payment could not be found and communication stopped; the poster later wrote that the bank confirmed the payment had reached TNSB’s bank. Other members in the same thread reported repeat orders without problems, some with freebies.
- A Growers Network thread from September 2022 describes a germination claim for which TNSB offered store credit that, according to the poster, did not cover the full seed price; the thread does not show a final outcome, and no company representative replied.
- A r/microgrowery thread from May 2021 reports poor germination and plants that flowered early; one commenter says an insured order never arrived and support could not be reached, and another says a replacement feminized seed turned out to be an autoflower. Other commenters report full germination and say the shop fixed a short-shipped order.
The testimonials on the TNSB site itself are chosen by the shop and are not independent. Taken together, the sources show a shop that delivers for many buyers, with recurring complaints about lost parcels without insurance, germination claims and store-credit-only outcomes. Most of the public feedback predates 2023, so it says little about service in 2026.
Who True North Seed Bank Suits, and Who Should Look Elsewhere
A good fit if you: live in Canada or the US and want free shipping from CA$165 with US orders sent domestically; want Canuk Seeds and well-known breeders such as Barney’s Farm, DNA Genetics, Sensi Seeds or Royal Queen Seeds in one cart; pay with crypto, cash or e-Transfer to avoid card fees; or want a written germination guarantee and are happy to use the paper towel method.
Look elsewhere if you: want to pay by card without a surcharge; germinate in plugs or straight in soil (the guarantee will not cover you); want cash refunds instead of store credit; or live outside North America and want low shipping costs or Canuk Seeds products.
Scoring Summary
| Category | Score |
|---|---|
| Seed Quality and Germination | 6.0/10 |
| Shipping and Delivery | 6.5/10 |
| Customer Service | 6.0/10 |
| Product Range | 7.0/10 |
| Price and Value | 6.0/10 |
| Website and UX | 5.5/10 |
| Overall | 6.2/10 |
True North Seed Bank scores 6.2/10 overall. Product Range is the strongest category at 7.0/10: 29 breeder brands, every common seed type including F1, single seeds and bulk packs, although the breeder list is shorter than it used to be. Shipping and Delivery follows at 6.5/10, thanks to free shipping over CA$165 in Canada and the US, a US warehouse and worldwide delivery, minus high international rates, insurance only for North America and no liability for uninsured parcels.
Seed Quality and Germination, Customer Service and Price and Value each land at 6.0/10. The 85% guarantee is written down, but it comes with a single claim, a paper towel requirement, buyer-paid replacement shipping and a list of exclusions, and the seed quality depends on the breeder. Support is reachable by phone in both countries, but refunds are store credit only and forum feedback is mixed. Prices of roughly $6 to $13 per seed are average, the 7.5% card fee pushes them up, and crypto or cash discounts and the loyalty program pull them back down. Website and UX scores 5.5/10: the filters and strain data are good, but the site sits behind a bot check and several help pages contradict each other or show outdated figures.
How Does True North Seed Bank Compare?
| Seedbank | Our score | Germination guarantee | Shipping to the US | Loyalty and deals | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| True North Seed Bank | 6.2/10 | 85% germination, one claim per order, within 90 days | Free over CA$165 (about US$120), ships from a US warehouse | True Loyalty points: about 2% back, 500 points = CA$1 | North American growers wanting Canuk and other breeders in one cart |
| Crop King Seeds | 6.7/10 | 80% with own method, one replacement, US/Canada | Free over $200 ($20 below), ships from Los Angeles | None listed (BOGO, free seeds over $420) | US and Canadian growers placing larger orders |

Scores and details come from each seedbank's own review on this site and update when that review is re-checked.
True North Seed Bank suits North American growers who want Canuk Seeds and a mix of established breeders in one order. If you want to compare guarantee terms, card fees and free-shipping thresholds with other shops that serve Canada and the US, see our reviews of Crop King Seeds and Beaver Seeds. For other multi-breeder shops, see Bushplanet and Seed Supreme. We do not list Canuk Seeds as an alternative, because it appears to share an operator with TNSB.
Final Verdict
True North Seed Bank is a legitimate, long-running shop and a sensible option for US buyers: free shipping starts at CA$165 (about US$120), US orders leave from a US warehouse, and there is a written 85% germination guarantee. The catalog combines the Canuk Seeds line with well-known breeders, and loyalty points plus crypto or cash discounts can offset part of the cost.
The weak points are concrete. Card payments cost 7.5% extra, the guarantee only covers paper towel germination with one claim per order, returns are refunded as store credit, and uninsured parcels are your risk. Independent feedback is limited and mixed, and buyers should know that Canuk Seeds appears to be run by the same operator. If those terms work for you, TNSB is a reasonable choice. To compare it with the rest of the field, see our seedbank review hub.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where is True North Seed Bank based, and who owns it?
True North Seed Bank says it is based in Canada. Its terms do not name an owner; from March 2024 to October 2025 the site footer listed Delta Trading LLC in Redding, California, as contact address, and the 2026 site shows no company address. It appears to share an operator with Canuk Seeds.
Does True North Seed Bank ship to the USA?
Yes. US orders ship from a US warehouse, free over CA$165 (about US$120) and at a flat rate below that. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, so check your local rules before you order.
How long does True North Seed Bank take to ship?
Most customers get tracking within one business day. Orders to the US and Canada usually arrive within 7 days, and 99% of international orders arrive within 14 working days, with rare cases up to 21.
Where does True North Seed Bank ship from?
US orders ship from a warehouse in the United States and Canadian orders from Canada. The shop says its seeds are stocked and shipped from North America.
Is True North Seed Bank legit?
Yes, it is an established shop: its copyright notice dates back to 2011, forum members discussed it in 2019, and it publishes its delivery, payment and germination policies. Independent feedback is mixed: many buyers report problem-free orders, while some report lost uninsured parcels and germination claims settled with store credit.
Does True North Seed Bank have a germination guarantee?
Yes, 85%, with one claim per order within 90 days of delivery. You must use the paper towel method from its Germination Guide and send photos or video; replacements are the same strain and you pay the shipping.
What payment methods does True North Seed Bank accept?
Credit or debit cards (Canada and US only, 7.5% fee), international money orders in USD or CAD, cash by mail, e-Transfer (Canada only), bank transfer (not for Canada or the US) and cryptocurrency. You are charged in Canadian dollars.
Are there True North Seed Bank coupon or discount codes?
We found no public code on the shop’s own pages as of October 2026. Newsletter sign-up gives 20% off your next order, free seeds come with orders over CA$50, and crypto and cash payments have had discounts. Only one code applies per order.
Is True North Seed Bank connected to Canuk Seeds?
They appear to share an operator. Both sites list the same phone numbers and opening hours, both named Delta Trading LLC as contact address in 2025, their germination policies are word for word the same and their payment terms closely match, and TNSB sells Canuk merchandise and a free Canuk Seeds catalog.
What Changed in This Update
This October 2026 update replaces our short 2021 review of True North Seed Bank. Free shipping to Canada and the US now starts at CA$165 instead of about $420, the newsletter discount is 20% rather than 30%, the phone lines are regular numbers rather than toll-free, bank transfer is not available to US and Canadian buyers, money orders are limited by currency rather than country, the breeder list is 29 brands rather than over 50, and prices no longer fit the old $12 to $51 range. The shop is not new either: its copyright notice runs from 2011. We added the germination guarantee terms, card fee, returns, loyalty program and the apparent link with Canuk Seeds, and dropped claims we could not verify, such as a medical-only start in Toronto.
