Dutch Seeds Shop (DSS) is an online seed store, not a breeder, that sells its own-label feminized and autoflower seeds in 5, 10 and 20 seed packs, priced in US dollars. Despite the name, its website lists addresses in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and Barcelona, Spain, not the Netherlands. Our verdict: the shop is online and takes orders, but checkout offers only free untracked shipping, refunds end once an order ships, and independent feedback has been mostly negative for years. We score it 3.7/10.

Buying from Dutch Seeds Shop in the USA
Dutch Seeds Shop is clearly aimed at American buyers: prices are in dollars, the terms say all payments are in US dollars, and the payment page mentions e-checks “directly from your U.S. bank account”. US delivery is free, but at checkout on October 22, 2026 the only service offered for a US address was “Free Shipping (non-Traceable) 15-30 days”. The product pages still advertise DHL delivery in 5 days with a tracking code for the US and Canada, and the payment page lists FedEx for $40. Neither appeared at checkout, so plan for an untracked parcel that can take a month.
That matters because of the refund policy. The terms and conditions state that all sales are final and that no refunds are issued after a product has shipped. Without tracking, it is hard to prove what happened to a parcel. The shipping terms do offer one free reshipment per order if a parcel is lost. Read the legal note in the shipping section below as well: a US address on the shipping list does not make growing legal in every state.
Who Dutch Seeds Shop Is
The brand is older than many of its rivals. The Wayback Machine has a copy of dutchseedsshop.com from September 2011, when the shop presented itself as selling seeds “from Amsterdam” with prices in euros. Today’s homepage says it has operated since 2011.
The site names two different companies. The footer of every page names De Smart Future Places S.L., with one address at Prezviter Kozma 3 in Plovdiv, Bulgaria and one at Carrer d’Aribau 161 in Barcelona. The terms (last updated March 26, 2022) name DSS Services Ltd, registered in Bulgaria at the Plovdiv address, with VAT number BG202150851. Both companies appear in official company registers. Bulgaria’s Commercial Register lists DSS-services LTD (UIC 202150851, registered July 2012), with its registered seat in Sofia since April 2021 rather than the Plovdiv address given in the terms. Spain’s company register lists Smart Future Places SL (CIF B65836942, incorporated 2012) at Carrer d’Aribau 161, Barcelona, the address in the site footer. The number BG202150851 is not registered for VAT in the European Commission’s VIES system (checked October 22, 2026), which concerns cross-border VAT registration only. The About page says the team is “based in Spain” and also that the company “operates from Bulgaria”. The site does not say which company runs the store or sells the seeds.
The About page also describes the shop as a store that “gathers seeds from the best breeders in Spain”. Product pages, however, sell the seeds under the shop’s own name, mostly without naming a breeder.
Catalog and Seed Types
On October 22, 2026 the store listed 286 products: 242 in the feminized category and 44 in the autoflower category, with 85 of them marked out of stock. That is smaller than the “over 300” strains claimed on the homepage, and the About page gives yet another figure (“over 280”). There are no regular seeds and only one CBD strain (CBD Critical Mass Autoflower).
The list leans on well-known names: Northern Lights, White Widow, Granddaddy Purple, Jack Herer, Gelato, OG Kush, Blue Dream, Gorilla Zkittlez, Strawberry Banana and Amnesia Haze, many in both feminized and autoflower versions. Product pages list genetics, THC and CBD ranges, flowering time and expected yield. Some also list medical conditions a strain “helps with”; those are the shop’s marketing claims, not something we can confirm. SeedFinder, a long-running strain database, lists the shop with the note “Overpriced seeds without telling the breeder”, and several of its user reviews question whether the seeds matched the strain ordered (see Reputation below). Because the shop does not name breeders, buyers cannot check the source of the genetics themselves.
Prices and Pack Sizes
Most strains come in 5 and 10 seed packs; 34 products also offer a 20-pack. There are no single seeds. These were the prices on October 22, 2026:

The cheapest seeds, at $60.99 for 10 ($6.10 a seed), include White Widow and Amnesia Haze Feminized (14 products share this price). The most expensive was CBD Critical Mass Autoflower at $96.99 for 5 ($19.40 a seed). Most strains cost roughly $7 to $16 a seed. The homepage’s own range (“feminized seeds: $7-20 per seed, autoflowering seeds: $6-15”) is roughly in line, although the CBD autoflower costs more than its autoflower range suggests.
Shipping is free, and the shop adds 5 free seeds for every $100 spent. Against that, the terms rule out refunds once an order ships, and you pay brand-name prices for seeds that carry no breeder name.
Shipping by Region
We tested checkout with addresses in the US, Canada, the UK, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain and Australia. Every country got the same single option, free and untracked, with these estimates:
- United States and Canada: 15 to 30 days
- UK and EU: 10 to 20 days
- Australia: 20 to 50 days
The shop’s own pages describe something different. The payment and shipping page lists three services: FedEx with tracking in 3 to 7 days for $40 (not for Europe), regular tracked shipping in 10 to 15 days for $10 (the same page later calls it a $20 service), and free untracked shipping in 10 to 15 days, plus an old note that orders could take over 60 days because of COVID-19. The About page says orders ship the same day by priority mail and that all shipments have tracking codes. The shipping terms name TNT Priority Airmail. The homepage says orders ship within 24 hours of payment and arrive within 10 to 20 days. When the pages disagree, go by what checkout shows you.
Stealth packaging. The descriptions conflict here too. The payment page says seeds usually come hidden inside a Dutch Seeds Shop t-shirt; the shipping terms say each strain is packed with roasted nuts and seeds (coffee beans, pumpkin and sunflower seeds) to disguise it. One SeedFinder reviewer (December 2019) said the return label read “LED Grow Lights LTD”. The shop’s legal disclaimer states that customs action is the buyer’s risk and that it cannot help in that case.
Lost parcels. The shipping terms promise one free reshipment per order if a parcel is lost. There is no refund once the order has shipped.
Shipping to the US does not make growing legal everywhere. Seed and cultivation laws differ by state, and the federal hemp definition is changing in stages between November 12 and December 11, 2026 (P.L. 119-37, section 781, as amended by P.L. 119-103), which may affect how cannabis seeds can be sold and shipped (Congressional Research Service summary). Check your state and local rules before you order.
Germination Guarantee: No Written Terms
The homepage says every seed “has a solid germination guarantee” and that failed seeds will be replaced, and product pages carry a “Germination Guaranteed” label. We found no page that sets out the terms: no germination window, no proof requirements, no claim deadline and no replacement formula.
In practice, buyers who report failed seeds describe mixed outcomes. On SeedFinder, several reviewers between 2016 and 2018 said replacements were promised but never arrived, and one Reviews.io reviewer said the shop stopped replying when they could not supply photos. If you order, photograph the seeds on arrival and every germination step, and keep your order number and emails.
Payment Methods
At checkout on October 22, 2026 there was one payment option: “Credit Card Payment link to your email”. You place the order first and the shop emails a card payment link afterwards. The payment page also lists bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies with 15% off, PayPal and e-checks, and the terms list cards and crypto, but none of these were offered at checkout.
Payment protection matters at this shop. In the 2017 Reddit thread below, the original poster said the shop asked for PayPal payment “as a Gift”, which removes buyer protection. One customer, posting on both Reviews.io and Reddit in April 2024, says they got their money back through an American Express chargeback. If you buy, use a card that lets you dispute a charge rather than crypto, gift payments or transfers that cannot be reversed.
Deals, Loyalty and Discount Codes
As of October 2026, the only standing offer is 5 free seeds for every $100 spent, advertised on the homepage, the About page and product pages. Shipping is free on every order, and the payment page mentions 15% off crypto payments, although crypto was not available at checkout when we checked. Checkout has a coupon field, but the site publishes no codes, and we found none we could verify. Be wary of coupon sites listing “Dutch Seeds Shop promo codes”. There is no loyalty program; the site runs an affiliate scheme for people who promote it.
Customer Service
The contact options are:

- WhatsApp, through an icon in the footer and on the contact page that links to a Philippine (+63) mobile number
- A contact form, and a support ticket option mentioned in the shipping terms
No phone number is printed on the site, and there is no listed phone support line. Public complaint handling looks weak. SeedFinder users rate customer service at 1.28 out of 10 across 92 reviews, and many of those reviews describe unanswered emails. More recent complaints on Reviews.io follow the same pattern: in May 2024 a verified reviewer said an order (#17299, $156) never arrived and emails bounced, and in January 2025 a reviewer said earlier orders were fine but the shop stopped responding after payment. There is no BBB profile.
Reputation
SeedFinder. The strongest independent signal is SeedFinder, which lists Dutch Seeds Shop as “red”, its warning category, and says it does “absolutely not recommend” ordering there. User ratings across 92 reviews (checked October 22, 2026): product quality 1.7, delivery speed 2.1, customer service 1.28 and general impression 1.69, all out of 10. The reviews date from 2016 to July 2021. Most describe orders that never arrived, seeds that did not germinate, or feminized packs that produced males or the wrong strain. There are also positive reviews reporting fast delivery and good germination, and SeedFinder’s moderators flagged several reviews as fake.
Reviews.io. The Reviews.io page shows 4.2 out of 5 from 46 reviews, but most are unverified and posted in April and May 2020. Reviews from 2023 to 2025 are negative: a parcel intercepted with no follow-up (September 2023), seeds that did not germinate and no reply (November 2023), money recovered through an American Express chargeback (April 2024), an order never received (May 2024) and no response after payment (January 2025).
Reddit. The main thread is “Anyone else have a terrible experience with Dutch Seeds Shop?” on r/microgrowery (February 1, 2017). The poster paid via PayPal as a gift and had no shipping confirmation; another user received a pack quickly, with extra seeds but missing freebies and one of three test seeds not germinating. Later comments in the same thread (April 18, 2024 and September 3, 2026) are negative, one describing an American Express chargeback.
Other platforms. SmartCustomer (formerly Sitejabber) had no reviews and the BBB had no profile on October 22, 2026.
Website and Grow Resources

The weak point is accuracy. The site gives two strain counts that differ from its own catalog, two company names, at least five shipping services and two stealth methods; the minimum age is 18 in one clause of the terms and 21 elsewhere; the footer still reads “Copyright 2023”; and the payment page still carries a COVID-19 delay note. Product pages make medical claims for individual strains. Treat the checkout page as the only reliable statement of what you will get.
Who Dutch Seeds Shop Suits, and Who Should Look Elsewhere
It may suit you if you: want free shipping on a small order to the US, Canada, the UK, the EU or Australia; are happy with own-label versions of popular strains; and accept an untracked parcel, card-only payment by emailed link and no refund once the order ships.
Look elsewhere if you: want tracked delivery; want a written germination guarantee with clear terms; want to know which breeder made your seeds; need regular seeds; or want a shop with a recent, verifiable record of good customer service. Beginners in particular are better served by a seedbank with published guarantee terms.
