AK27 Express is the baby sister of AK47 that’s just as potent and delicious.
As its name implies, AK27 Express is a fast cannabis strain. It grows quickly so that it can be harvested quickly, making it an emerging favorite among home cultivators.
This particular variant is a blend of genetics from the Cannabis rederalis subspecies and the one and only AK47. It was originally propagated by Phoenix Cannabis Seeds.
AK47 is world-famous for its outstanding lineage that is a combination of no less than four landraces: Colombian, Afghani, Thai, and Mexican. Although classified as a Sativa, its effects are mellower than expected. In addition, it is a small, compact plant that does not require too much skill and experience from its growers. As an autoflower, it remains a short height throughout its life so that it can be managed easily in any available space. It does not need a change in the light schedule to trigger flowering because it decides when to produce buds on its own according to its internal clock. Seed to harvest takes 9 to 10 weeks only.
That said, AK27 Express retains its parent’s high THC level. Although it is a smaller plant with a brief life span, it can still yield an abundance of dense buds containing 15 to 20% THC. As an autoflowering strain, AK27 Express grows into a miniature cannabis plant with a height of 50 to 70 cm (20 to 28 inches). Consequently, it can fit into a tiny space like a cabinet or balcony without any difficulty. The small size results from its brief life cycle that spans a mere 70 days from seed germination to maturity. Unlike non-auto marijuana cultivars, it does not have time to stretch to a towering stature.
An implication of that abbreviated life span is the plant does not require extensive training to make it more fruitful. As a matter of fact, there is a possibility that it might not be able to recover from the high-stress training techniques. It is much better to leave it alone to do its own thing; therefore, neophyte growers should not have any difficulty cultivating it.
Indoors, the most efficient method to attain the highest possible yield is to grow several plants concurrently. About 7 to 9 plants packed into a one square meter area can produce 350 grams (12 ounces) of delectable, resinous nugs. By keeping the grow lights on for 18 to 20 consecutive hours a day, the plants will grow more vigorously. It is not necessary to switch the light schedule to 12/12 to initiate the flowering stage, unlike photoperiod strains.
Raising AK27 Express outdoors is also possible as long as its smell does not spread through a densely populated area.
