Amnesia 5 is the CBD-enriched reboot of one of the world’s most sought-after strains.
Amnesia 5 is a high-CBD cannabis strain bred by CBD Seeds. They created it by combining the genes of one of their Amnesia Haze clones and their prize-winning CBD-rich varietal named One to One.
It is an excellent medicinal herb for consumers looking for stress relief and mood enhancement that they can’t seem to find in milder strains. Because it is Sativa-dominant, its uplifting effect can treat depression, and its mind-clearing property can reduce anxiety.
However, don’t make the mistake of thinking that it has no recreational value. Since its direct ancestor Amnesia Haze has a naturally high THC content, the resulting hybrid is still very psychoactive. The fusion with One to One increased the CBD level so that it is more or less the same as THC – which remains within the 10 to 20% range.
In fact, Amnesia 5 made a name for itself in Dutch coffee shops because of its powerful and long-lasting buzz. Cannabis tourists are warned that it is not for casual tokers unless they are prepared to spend the rest of the day chilling out. The first puff may produce an energetic state at first, but it does not last long. Sooner rather than later, the citrusy, spicy buds will lull the user into a euphoric daze.

Whether it’s the photoperiod or autoflowering version, growing Amnesia 5 has some special considerations. They have to do with preserving its CBD content. Typically, the buds can be left to mature on the plant for as long as possible. However, the longer you delay, CBD tends to lose dominance. Therefore, experts advise collecting the nugs a little earlier – as soon as half the pistils change color from light to dark or before the trichomes become completely opaque
Amnesia 5 is currently available as feminized seeds but not regular (unsexed). That means there is no need to identify the plants’ genders and separate them. These seeds are 99% guaranteed to sprout female plants, so there won’t be any pollen-producing males to contaminate the flowers and lower the yield.
Indoor growing is the best option for this strain. A grow room or tent makes it possible to control the temperature, relative humidity (RH), and other factors much more easily. The optimal temperature is 21 to 27 degrees Celsius (70 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit). Meanwhile, the RH should be maintained at 60 to 70% from the seedling to vegetative stages, then lowered to 40 to 55% during flowering.
As for the growing medium, both hydroponics and soil are suitable. The former can encourage the plant to vegetate more vigorously because its roots can access the nutrients directly through water. But if you want to enhance this strain’s unique terpene profile even more, you should use organic soil. In either case, the budding period lasts 8 to 10 weeks, and one square meter of grow space can yield an impressive 350 to 400 grams (12 to 14 ounces) of dense, resinous buds.
That said, outdoor cultivation is also possible if the climate is right. Being a Sativa, Amnesia 5 prefers a warm, semi-humid location with ample sunshine. Each plant can grow to a maximum height of about 180 cm (6 feet) and produce 400 grams (14 ounces) of usable bud. Although it has strong resistance against pests and diseases, it can be a bit sensitive to the cold. It is best to grow it in a pot instead of directly in the ground so that you can bring it indoors if the temperature drops.
Autoflowering Amnesia 5 is the ideal strain for people attempting to grow cannabis for the first time. It has all the recreational and pharmaceutical advantages of the non-auto version, but it is much easier to care for. HavingRuderalis genes that came from the harsh conditions of Russia, it is more robust and can survive cold weather. In addition, it is a much smaller plant, hardly exceeding 100 cm (40 inches) in height. It can fit right in with your other houseplants, or you can stash it away in a closet.
In a controlled environment, you can propagate several plants simultaneously, even if they are in different growth stages. Unlike photoperiod marijuana, they do not need a change in the light schedule to trigger budding. You can keep the grow lights on for 18 to 20 hours a day from the seedling to the flowering phase. All you have to do is feed them properly for 9 to 10 weeks, and you should be able to harvest 350 to 400 grams (12 to 14 ounces) of delicious buds per square meter of grow space.
Rearing Amnesia 5 Auto strain outdoors is also very straightforward. Each plant can generate 50 to 100 grams (1.8 to 3.5 ounces) of nugs. The more heat and sunlight it is exposed to, the more productive it will be. And since it has a short life span, you can also boost the yield through continuous propagation.
